The girl from Indonesia pronounced Sch and most words so well!
As she said arabic is also thought and arabic also has the kh gg sound
Well yes we do have some history there as the Dutch people.
Indonesian is a mix of many languages including Dutch and there’s a lot of history with Dutch colonization in Indonesia
@Bomsanchu we won't do it again!
Probably.
@troll.0835 Nah, Indonesian is mainly Malaysian as it existed in 1945.
They only borrow a few Dutch words.
The significant thing in society, is that many elite Indonesians were sent to The Netherlands before WW2 to learn engineering and other stuff and of course to speak proper Dutch. These Indonesians are nearly all gone now because they were of the same generation of Sukarno (and even evill little Suharto). While still alive, these elite Indonesians with Dutch education would speak Dutch in private, or if they didn't want to be over heard by the younger people.
While these older Dutch speaking Indonesians are gone, their children who are now in their late seventies, will still remember what Dutch sounded like in general. And possibly some of these children learned Dutch themselves from their Dutch speaking parents.
To say ' Scheveningen' was a test to distinguish dutch vs germans during the war. It was one of the words that would tell your origin. They were set up to fail here.
ColaBoyEditsexactly. In Nigeria too when we don’t want Ghana in our country then I mean our forefathers, they gave them words to say and it’s not possible for them no matter how long they stay here they can’t say it in our tone. They can’t say R like how we say it. We pronounce it as rrrr and their own is riiii and lots more sha😂
Ya, the "g" here is soft compared to the hard "g" that is more common.
@OAOaOlagold Hi just wanted to say that God loves you! You can repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! Because He can give you so much love, joy and peace! God bless you You are worthy in His eyes God has a purpose for you 💗
@superlynnie Hi just wanted to say that God loves you! You can repent and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins! Because He can give you so much love, joy and peace! God bless you You are worthy in His eyes God has a purpose for you 💗

3:15 ''And how do you feel about it'' HAHAHA such a Dutch thing to say LOLL
Inderdaad
@Modsupaflyja de meeste NEDERLANDERS zijn HEELLL DIRECT

That "maatschappij" turn to "maskapai" in Indonesian
You from netherlands? I am
@esthersteutel7098no, I am Indonesian
@ashrafabdillah9663 really? Is it hat similar?
@Proleet138yes, Indonesian took it from the Dutch. And There's so many more words
I don’t even care for the “cheating”, I absolutely love the vibes of the group and love learning about their differences in their languages
I love this group of people, they seem to vibe to each other really well 😂❤
yesss they’re such a mood and not easily get hurt with the jokes 😭😭
i love this team the vietnamese guy is such a mood and the indo girl laughs easily and the thai girl is vibing within 😭
I love the vibes of southeast Asian members. Very easy going and friendly.
everyone is is asian except the right dutch girl so this is kind of personal for that girl
@cr4zyFL0WERthey like everyone except for the white girl 😢
I have to say the Vietnamese guy presented Vietnam really well. Thank you, Leanhton!
lol yes i love him!!!
Does Vietnamese speak French?
@eddyr1041Sure thing, some do.
@eddyr1041 Normally we don't, if you see someone speak French, it means they chose to learn French, not they have to.
@nguyenhuyhoang5952very interesting, while other france coloni are francophone, like North Africa etc...
Dutch coloni never speak their language though,
British all coloni speak English, "make the world english" was the imperial Britain motto and they role until ww1
This is how you play the game, just joking around without offending each other or being too sensitive. Everyone’s having fun.
Nah, they should've tried harder
Without being too sensitive?😂 "😮 did you just say a slur word???🙊"
Elita did really well, this time Temmie was the weak link in the chain. Both Dutch girls saved it almost every word.
It’s the syllables that make the words recognizable.
The Indonesian🇮🇩 did very well, btw.
Indonesia and Holland (Belanda in Indonesian term) go way back
@subhanov0811I know.
As she does in appearance as well😊
Cause they colonized it
This was genius. Laughted all the way through.
13:12 no worry. You've put in the effort and made this video fun.
I always thought about how this game would be really easy in Dutch when watching other languages
we'd absolutely get crushed by tonal languages like chinese and vietnamese
@soggharthaI cant even imagine how speaking a language like that would work because I never learned any 😭 Im already bad at speaking in general so I can only imagine Id do a horrible job at it
This kind of telephone game makes more sense, than when you play it with speakers of the language or with speakers of sister languages. Also, the Thai girl is so cute, don't blame her! This is a game, it's for amusement, it's not supposed to be a test.
Laughed so much with this one 😅 I loved it! I’m currently learning Dutch so I’m hoping to see more of these 🇳🇱🥰 Lots of love from Brazil 🇧🇷
I’ll teach you a very important dutch word:
G E K O L O N I S E E R D
come north to SR then we will expedite you learning dutch.
Blijven in jouw eigen land
Remember that one cause the dutch say it to anyone not white. Xenophobic ASF
Veel succes met leren
@steentjedijkema Dankjewel! ☺️💐 Waar in Nederland kom je vandaan? Je achternaam is Fries, toch? 🤔
I still remember that video where every dutch person was angry because they chose a woman who was pretending to be dutch and she was saying everything wrong haha. Everybody was so mad.
She had a different accent (she pronounced everything correctly but in a different accent) - yet people think that’s “wrong” - like how nonnative people speak English with “wrong pronunciation”
Give it a rest , you're getting really boring now, go outside and play with your friends.
@ItzMysticThePRO_Taavi.M Absolutely not. She didn't pronounce everything correctly.
Yes! I also remember the fake Dutch girl saga.
It was only ever a "saga" for a very small minority who couldn't understand that every country has regional accents, for the rest of us, the vast majority of us it never was a saga.
1:30 “fly high”😭
😂
JA IK WEET HET😭😭😭😭
@Modsupafly😶🌫️😂
I like how Lisa is trying her best to help! But also a great team overall ;)
Hearing that they like our language makes me happy thankyou :)
As a Thai person, I have to say that Dutch pronunciation is really difficult for us. Especially with “khhhh” sounds!
I'm Dutch, but I also struggle with the "kh" sounds!
We have a much softer g/ch sound in the south of the Netherlands. (at least, in Noord Brabant and Limburg)
But they always invite people from "above the rivers" for these kinds of things.
I am learning Thai as a Dutch. And I can toooootally imagine it's such a hard language. Our languages are like different worlds! Just as the Thai language is very hard for me as well.
My husband is German, which is similar to Dutch, and he still struggles pronouncing some sounds. (And I also struggle with some German sounds in return). Pronounciation is hard when you didn't learn that language as a kid 🙂
Fun fact; the Dutch g (or "khhhh") is actually not native to the language. It's a foreign immigrant from Jewish and was introduced into the language around the 17th/18th century in Amsterdam and from there spread around the country. Exception are the provinces south of the Rhine, many local dialects in the east and Belgium.
I'm Thai that speak Thai, Dutch and English fleuntly. So I might be bias here, but I think as a Thai person it is very easy to pronounce stuff in other languages if we try harder by listening to pronouncation and try to copy it. We have almost every sound as 1 letter for example like: G=ข, Kh-ค, Dutch J= ย, English J- จ, Sh= ช, Ng= ง, R=ร, L=ล and more.
Eindelijk het echte telefoonspel!! 🤩🇳🇱 Hartelijk bedankt, iedereen!!!! 🤩🇳🇱
😅😅😅Ikr
2:22 is he doing apt?! man sad. that all my dutch friends forgot abt that song:( it whas such a banger
Waarschijnlijk.
Ja ik denk het
I actually wanten them to say the word ’hottentottententententoonstelling’
Vietnam guy is so charismatic
I,m from scheveningen😂
After the first couple words I couldn´t stop laughing haha. The indonesian girl did really good but after her it didn´t sound like a dutch word at all anymore. I think I wouldn´t have guessed a lot of them if I was sitting in that last seat. But still tumbs up for trying. I think you´re really brave for trying this online! I would be too scared.
Indonesians are still somewhat fluent in speaking Dutch.
While Thai & Vietnamese people make you laugh 🤣🤣
Facts
i think the majority of indonesian muslim can somehow mimic that kind of europian language (root) because they learn arabic wich has some different sounds that is not officially exist in bahasa indonesia itself. i mean so there’s some extension of pronunciation ability other than just indonesian and english
@diamondsauthority4143 well Indonesian use alphabet and pronounce it like German and Italy cmiiw.
They are so funny. I like these game.
Please do More video's with these people
Ja, zeker!!!! 🇳🇱🇳🇱
@elson.1990ik ben ook nederlands😏
@ismaelsedoc4947 Ik ben eigenlijk niet Nederlands maar leer natuurlijk ook de mooie taal. 😁😁😀🇳🇱
@elson.1990ah, ok, duidelijk.
@ismaelsedoc4947 ahaha
But why are they speaking sometimes in korean?
Luna is so amazing 😀
Nope, Elita is😊
Poor man is breaking his tongue over those words haha
My laughing chimney is a creepy guy
This video so fun 😂😂
From Vietnam 🇻🇳 with love ❤
Wtf, I went to the same High School as Luna in the Netherlands 😭
Dutch, speaking Thai, have a very similar experience. My name is Ted. Not a polite word in Thai..555.. Surname Sneeuw, (snow in English), if pronounced with the wrong tone... Very impolite..555.
Combined, Ted Snow, pronounced with the wrong tone...😂😂😂😂
5:23 rip head phones (the blond girl dropped it)
Elita was very cute when she read it😭🤣
Salam Rahayu dari Indonesia 🇮🇩
Saya
I love how english is the Bridge language to help us all come together from every background. ❤
Proud to be Indonesian
💪🏻🇮🇩
Indonesia is always strong
@secangkirhottomanado Just like what Elita did in this video. 💪🏻🇮🇩
@secangkirhottomanado 🇮🇩
my favourite Blonde Dutch girl❤
Very nice!
I'm a German native speaker (Austrian) and tried to guess the meaning of the words. Four of them were very easy and sounded very similar to German: Vrijheid (Freiheit), Waarschijnlijk (Wahrscheinlich), Eenentwintig (Einundzwanzig) and Herinneringen (Erinnerungen).
"Onmiddelijk" was a bit harder, but I guessed it right with "Unmittelbar".
I have the same as a dutch speaker to german. Want to try german as well
youre just fake dutch.
This is the most fun episode I watched😂😂😂😂
None of these languages are similar to Dutch, so I'm not surprised to see them having difficulty learning some words and sounds. Since I study German, I can understand a little Dutch.
Klopt wel.
Als je Duits spreek moet je ook aardig wat Nederlands verstaan.
@Tjalie-j6iAs iemand Afrikaans praat dan daardie persoon kan Nederlands verstaan.
@SwiftieunderOceanBlvdJa.
And if someone speaks Surinamese🇸🇷 they can understand Dutch as well.
@Tjalie-j6isurinaams is een soort dialect van nederlands, het is geen eigen taal.
@elmolovesyou2320Correct, so is Afrikaans.
Although they claim its a language, it's really an accent of Dutch, like Flemish and many others.
4:27 the way the second girl ( the orangish-brown hair girl) was just vibing😭
Dat was echt grappig😂
Wow, the Dutch girl is so beautiful
There are two Dutch girls.
is vliegtuigmaatschappij related to airlines? because in indonesian there is the word "MASKAPAI" (the pronunciation is very similar to maatschappij) which literally means company but is more commonly used for airlines
Zeker, of "luchtvaart maatschappij" zoals KLM (Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij). 😍🇳🇱💙✈️
I'm Polish and I love how Dutch sounds and looks
Het is makkelijk voor ons😂😂😂
its very interesting that the vietnamese guy thought that dutch sounds beautiful when for english speakers and a lot of other europeans dutch has a stereotype of sounding really jarring and harsh. I'm not saying this is my personal view but thats definitely an opinion i hear a lot in the uk. its so interesting that different native languages changes your perception of another language so much
As an indonesian, i think dutch sounds very sexy especially the throaty or guttural sounding.
Well, have you heard Vietnamese? 😂
@Bullgatorrlmao I wasn't gonna say it but I'm definitely not gonna disagree 😂
This is the most funniest ever in the show
i agree 😂
Righttt! the editing as well lmao
Yes!
YEAAAAAA 😂😂😂
I was surprised how well they actually did lol, very fun watch
in the other video, as an indonesian, i could feel the desperation of in pronouncing of vietnamese (and thai too) in our tongue, and now i can feel it how hard for the thai girl to pronounce the dutch 😭😭 i said “you must be feeling like what i felt in the other vid” 😭😭
but im here laughing hard sorry but ts just so funny + the vietnamese guy is such a mood & elita is so easy to laugh 😭 this is the best team
In many aspects, the Indonesian language is more influenced by Western languages, especially Dutch. That’s why Indonesian is quite different from its neighboring languages. Even the intonation of formal Indonesian sounds more similar to European languages (particularly Dutch) than to other Asian languages.
Indonesia’s national songs are also influenced by the characteristic melodies of Western music. If Indonesia had adopted Dutch as its national language, the country would be very similar to Australia. Geographically distant from the West, yet culturally very Western in character.
Temmie ❤️
We Indonesian can pronouncing any words from any languages as long as we heard the sound right and the speaker said it slowly. 😅
monkey see monkey do
why cant your country prosper tho? the dutch taught you people everything you need to know to be a rich country but you poor
Vliegtuigmaatschappij is Airlines(?), i think? Because in Indonesia we use Maskapai Terbang.
Zeker, of "luchtvaart maatschappij" zoals KLM (Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij). 😍🇳🇱💙✈️
11:59 Apparently I am incapable of saying this word in dutch and always end up saying the german wahrscheinlich instead
love this group 😂😂
Thailand is pronouncing almost everything wrong.
Indonesia is close tho. Its still hard but i can understand it. Thailand just completely changes the pronunciation so Vietnam can’t understand.
Understandable, since Indonesia was colonized by the Netherlands for almost 400 years, while Thailand has never been colonized by any country. Thai people aren’t very familiar with foreign languages, not even English, and I think most of us just feel more comfortable using Thai. So it can be quite difficult for us to pronounce things the same way as native Dutch speakers.
@Allmyloveisforyou7777 Not exactly. That Indonesian player is just smart and has a very good sound discerning skill. Indonesians did not speak Dutch, except if they were educated noble children.
@jessicag630 Imitating sounds doesn’t determine intelligence. I believe that if Japanese people joined the activity, they wouldn’t be able to pronounce it either. However, they’re still among the top countries in the world with the highest IQ. Right?
I think it doesn't help that Thai is a tonal language, which is completely different from western languages.
Please make more videos with this group of people! They're funny and get along really well! ❤🎉
Indonesian girl is a hype girl for real 🤣
6:00 funny that the 'R' is put into the word its not in
i think the second girl could really learn dutch lol, she was good with pronouncing the words
It’s a funny video because im dutch and indonesian so like pleister in dutch is also pleister in indonesian
I must say that the first lady is rly good with it.
Have fun all.
Omg the Dutch girl was so smartttttt 😮😮😮😮
She is on fire holy 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Btw, Tammy Thai accent was so strong 😂😂😂😂😂😂
4:44 huringhuringan 😂 kumaha neng
The first girl is from Netherlands but she looks very East Asian. I think she was born in Netherlands and hold Netherlands citizenship maybe
yes i think so
Thank you so much for this telephone game

Hottentottententententoonstelling.
Lekkerkerkerkerkerkerkerker
@ramon1029 Ja, dat is er een van Piet Grijs! Lekkerkerker-kerk-erker-kerker.
Lidah orang Indonesia sudah biasa dengan bahasa Belanda, jadi kami sangat mudah mengucapkan kosa kata bahasa Belanda ,ya kali di jajah sama Belanda selama 350 tahun masa tidak bisa bahasanya sih
Here you have a very fun very long dutch word "Fietsventieldopjesmagazijnmedewerker"
Gefeliciteerd, Luna!! 🥳🎉🎊🎂🍰
Volgensmij kijken alleen Nederlanders dit lol😂
What an exceptionally joyful bunch. I wanna be friends with alm of them!
Totally lauging for that 😂😂
Really cool video
As a german itss sooo funny becaus i mostly understand what the word is ands funny to se that their struggeling🤣
🇳🇱 : vrijheid = freedom
🇮🇩 : prei = holiday ( javanese language )
Prei dari kata Vrij (bahasa Belanda).
Fun fact: Scheveningen was used during world war 2 to determine if someone was really Dutch or a German undercover agent. The reason is that the Dutch G sound is hard to fake
Hoiii ik woon daar
Nah the captions for their pronunciations are hilarious hahahaha 7:30 "free-to-match-a-pie" hahahaha
lol I was trying to think which word this was supposed to be without clicking the timestamp and I could still guess the right one😂
@lukvanleeuwen7603 as a non-dutch speaker I had absolutely no idea but having the auto translation in English means anything remotely similar will be translated directly so this monstrosity resulted 😂
Me as a german watching this understanding everything:
Dude had the time of his life.
why? he is not straight
The ch is hard to pronounce but kind of easy to get when you are guessing
so many "khhhh" sound
I’m a teacher of this “grschrj” language😉 I’m impressed, well done guys! 🙌
This is such a funny game to do and watch! Pretty sure they all got a great time together. I laughed so hard when the Thai girl and the guy from Vietnam are just joking and vibing.😂 They are so chill.
Great team, joy overload. The Thai girl is a cookie
Omg this was so funny! Love them! ❤
