Duckie, is at the forefront of music once again ....!!!! I enjoyed this more contemporary side of Mortal Boy, with a more distinctive Dark Synth-pop sound, just tempting the softest touch of Retro New-wave hinting at its edges. I'm always impressed by Mortal Boy's ability to create such beautifully textured atmospheres, but Duckie is digging deep with his vocal treatments. Out of all the many, many band's on the Los Angeles circuit, Mortal Boy knows best how to convey the city's past, present, and future by acknowledging the very roots of a movement that defined the Southern California style of music. This is definitely Cinematic quality that could fit well in a movie of love-loss. It's a welcome addition to his already significant contributions to music in general. There is much to be said, about someone who is talented, as well as friendly as Duckie simply is. So, I can't help but believe that Crystal, Evie, and Nichol are ex-girlfriends which broke his heart. This song is a much sweeter departure from some of the more acrimonious departures I've heard before from other artists'; nevertheless, this has an exquisite kiss of true catharsis explored. "You watch as all your family stare take one last look At the water ocean sway Take your last breath And feel air slip away ....." This is the hidden beauty of loss and departure, which we've all experienced at sometime in our lives. Un cordial saludo a Alfonso, por seguir siendo el anfitrión de "Mortal Boy", que es una delicia. ¿No veo esta canción en particular en la lista de "bandcamp"? ¿Sabes dónde está?
I am taken a back by your indepth analysis and compliments it really is such a heartfelt treatment I feel I don't often receive but thanks to you for it. This is song is actually a dedication to the loss of three friends this year to cancer :( in a way like losing love/loss in a relationship this can sting just as hard if not worse. Thank you again
As for it not being on bancamp. This song will be featured In my upcoming album coming out next year ! But I still like to share songs that I finish in other ways i can and have established a working relationship with Alfonso to help support and get me exposure ^___^
@@thismortalboy You're more than welcome Duckie. I understand this will be an album sometime next year, so I don't know if this will be the cover art or not? I hope so, because you seem to pick good art. My friend, loss is loss ― No matter, how or where it may occur, so for that reason I honestly send my deepest condolences. Yet, you still made something beautiful out of the experience and this is what anyone could hope to do, especially for those who leave us behind. December has always been a difficult month for me, because it always seems to harbor death and true to form, I lost my uncle last week. I can only be grateful, that it was a fast departure; but, I lost my Mother due to lung cancer, so I empathise with you. So, now that I know what the song is in reference too, I'm now tearing-up..... May your 2023 hold better memories, bringing much health and happiness to you and your family ;-)
