Concerning Yellow Submarine: It was a habit to write a song for Ringo on an album. Due to his limited vocal range and his good relationship with children they wrote just a singalong for kids.
And they had a lot of fun recording it. Especially in the middle section. That’s it - just fun!
This was the gift of the Fab Four: They were able to write any kind of music they wanted to write. Psychedelic, Rock & Hard Rock, silly & stupid songs, funny & serious songs, ballads etc. etc.
    The world‘s best ever …
    Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹

The Beatles gave this concert "spontaneously" on the roof of their Apple headquarters on January 30, 1969, as they were wrapping up sessions for what would come out as _Let It Be_ over a year later (although without this song, which was issued on a single a few MONTHS after this gig). It was bitterly cold, hence the mink/fur coats; John was wearing Yoko's mink. The recording of _Abbey Road_ lay ahead before John announced he was done with it, leaving _Let It Be_ to be "salvaged" for group-"posthumous" release in 1970, a process for which Phil Spector was brought in to "polish it up".

Don't be too hard on those cops. In an interview with the lead cop decades later he told the story that the police headquarters had actually gotten several complaints by citizens in area streets about the noise. It was causing disruptions in business and traffic blockage because of people gathering and blocking the streets. Remember, this was in a busy business area of the city right in the middle of the work day. The two cops that came out to the studio were ordered by headquarters to go out there and shut it down. It's not like those two cops were harassing the Beatles. They were just doing their job following orders. After they arrived, the staff at Apple asked the cops of they could do one more song and they said, ok, go ahead and do one more then you have to shut it down. They were actually very patient and non-confrontational. The last song they did was "Get Back" which was a huge success. If the cops had not been gracious enough to let them perform one more number, that iconic performance of "Get Back" would never have happened.

Actually, John really dominated the early Beatles career, not Paul, most of the early songs were lead written by John or lead sung by John, other than Love me do the first single (UK). In the later years of the Beatles, 65/66/67/68/69/70, Paul was mostly the lead singer or writer on the Beatles singles. Don't let me down was on the B side of the Get back single, in UK 1969, Get back lead singer being Paul. Whatever people's perceptions of the band in the last couple of years of, it all being the members arguing, this wasn't the case in reality in quite the same degree as people seem to believe. And, Ringo says it, when it came to the music with the band they always were able to get it on and really work and gel together with the music, however, they might not always get on when not playing, in the later years. By the time the Beatles were in 1965 and onwards the talent that each Beatle had was coming through real strong with each individual and by '68 & '69 the band couldn't contain these four great talents and those talents needed their own release in their own right, outside of the band the beatles. This was a big part of why they split. Plus, the four members were moving on in their own lives outside the band, wives & families etc....The Beatles had been a teenage boy's club/gang since they were 15 yrs old in one way, shape or form with some membership changes, since their very early years together, 1956, people forget this, and by 1957/58 John, Paul and George were together making music as a band, living in each others pockets from there on in! They'd gown up by '69 and wanted to start doing their own individual nusic projects.

-the plan initially was to go into the studio and rehearse for a live concert using the songs from 1968 and prior
-anyother band would promote the white album from 1968
-being the Beatles they never repeated themselves..sooo...they decided to write and record all new songs from scratch
-by the end of January 1969 as Ringo had to start a film..lol
Which they did..let it be .get back..don't let be down..something..long and winding road..etc..as well as many songs for abbey road

They told them to stop playing and then waited for quite a while for them to comply. Finally, one of them told one of the Beatles handlers, "I see no evidence that you're stopping," so they did stop.
Also, the Beatles had to write "Yellow Submarine" for a cartoon movie of the same name that they were legally obligated to cooperate with because of a 3 movie deal they had once made.

Yellow Submarine was not written for the movie. It was on their 1966 album Revolver. Intended to appeal to kids it was also released as a 45 single. It did so well someone came up with the idea to make a cartoon movie, which the Beatles were not too interested in, except it did help them fulfill their movie contract. They liked the idea as they wouldn’t have to spend a month or two filming another movie. Once they saw the completed film they had a change of heart and actually thought it was pretty good. The film came out in 1968, two years after the song was originally released.

Paul McCartney had an amazing career after the Beatles, but even he said the songs he created with the Beatles were better, due to the band's comeraderie in the studio. Btw, the now iconic rooftop session was never mean't to happen. The Beatles had originally set themselves the daunting task of creating enough new songs in about a month for an intended televised special. Egos and timing got in the way though, so they said "fuck it" and performed what they had on the Apple studios rooftop. No one at the time thought this would be the last time they all performed together. But tragic fate got in the way.... I would recommend watching Peter Jackson's rrcent documentary for more context on the recording sessions. Also, Yoko was not majorly responsible for the band breaking up. She was a little irritating for the other band members due to her constant presence, but the major reasons for the breakup were more complicated and personal to each band member. 😊

The cops didn't just show up, they were called because of the noise (EMI studios being in a business district,) but they were slowly led through the building, even having the crew act like they got lost on the way to the roof, to give the band more playing time. The guys are wearing their wives coats because this is an impromtu concert that was only planned that day. They were expecting to go to the Taj Mahal, or the Pyramids, Coliseum or something else big for their last concert, but they scapped that idea and "Sod it all, let's just go on the roof." John, Ringo, and George are wearing their wives coats because this is late January in 1969. John Lennon was assassinated in 1980. Just after his ground breaking album DOUBLE FANTASY was released. He was on the top of the charts again.

X’lnt ! Great song. Great band. Lennon was murdered in 1980 & had done several solo albums. McCartney of course lived on in Wings. Harrison & Starr had solo careers, with Ringo turning in some acting as well & George becoming a Travelling Wilbury. Oh my word, when Gabe sed he would happily wear a Mink coat in the class room … my thoughts went straight to Huggy Bear, the African American dude in the Starsky & Hutch show 😆🤣🤪

Yellow submarine is neither good nor bad. Ringo Starr simply spreads good vibes with a lively track.
It's a big mistake, indeed an injustice, to judge Yoko Ono exclusively as a Beatles crasher. She's an exceptional avant-garde artist, who has occasionally produced quite interesting music. However, it's not her primary profession, even though she has released a lot of records. The now 91-year-old has also made a name for herself as a peace activist and, together with John Lennon, organized actions, that attracted worldwide attention in the late 1960's and early 1970's.
The Beatles caused more turmoil in the 1960s, than all punk bands combined.

Personally, I believe Yoko saved John. Without her support and guidance, I think he had a tendency to overindulged himself and probably would've spent all of his earnings. After the breakup, I can easily imagine him being surrounded by people who would try to take advantage of him. Yoko gave him the emotional energy he needed and kept his financial affairs in order.

Sorry, as good a Billy Preston was, and did play on several of their songs, he was never one of the Beatles. Please don't give the impression he was officially part of the group. Yes, we all heard talk about "maybe" being considered to be asked to join, but no one in the band wanted another member at that point in their career - although they did consider him more than good enough to play with them. But, they had many great artists and musicians play with them over the years. Also, Billy did write some songs over his career, part of the issues the Beatles had was they already had four song writers and really didn't need another. Part of the issue with them breaking up was song writing styles and they didn't want to add another into the mix - I do emphasize that was only part of the reason - definitely not the whole reason.

"Yellow Submarine" was an intentional attempt to write a children's song.
By this time, the lads were marrying and settling down. The career had given them all the money they's ever need, the residuals would make them want for nothing, and half of the Beatles had begun having kids. They were looking at 'after the Beatles' and living real lives. So they made a children's song. That's all "Yellow Submarine" was.
You should look for me in your other Beatle reaction video comments. Lots of history there. And NO; Paul never died or was replaced. Jeez.
John and Paul shared lead vocals all through the bands' existence. John sang "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and "Money" while Paul sang "Twist and Shout" and "Long Tall Sally" in 1963 and 1964. John sang " Norwegian Wood" and "In My Life" on 1965's Rubber Soul while Paul sang "Michelle" and "I'm Looking Through You". John sang "She Said She Said" and "Tomorrow Never Knows" on 1966's Revolver while Paul sang "Here, There, and Everywhere" and "Eleanor Rigby". And on and on.
These guys never signed up for a ten-year gig.
From the moment Beatlemania hit, they were constantly talking with the press about 'after'; they didn't think Beatlemania could be sustained, so they always spoke about 'after the bubble bursts', but it never did. They expected a couple years, maybe three tops, and the fame would ebb and they'd have to figure out what to do next. But it didn't stop.
Consider, in 1964, George turned 20, Paul 21, John 22. Ringo was the 'old man' of the group at 25. Seven years later, they were tired. They were rich as hell, so no economic incentive to keep the group together. They all had families now. They could put out solo albums or make albums and concerts with other people. Staying together meant more legal issues than economic gains, especially with any one of them pulling the others into deal they didn't want. They needed time apart, time for themselves and their own interests, time to breathe and live. After seven years, it all got old. Being a Beatle had ceased to be a job and started to be slavery.
What did Yoko do after the Beatles broke up? She gave birth to Sean Lennon (after a few miscarriages), she built up John's wealth so he had complete creative freedom (she had a real talent for finances), she gave John room to be a stay-at-home dad to raise his son, and she continued to do charities and avant garde art. Part of normalizing John's life was moving to NYC, where famous people can walk around in public without being mobbed. (Unfortunately, stalkers can show up anywhere.)

Your man is not getting it.
The Beatles were great throughout but went from Love Me Do to A Day in the Life in 7 years, most bands don't evolve at all
Add to that the technology they're were dealing with and all their songs are really distinct from each other, no 2 songs sound similar
Add to that, no other band had as many great songs as them and you have a beast on your hands, but obviously for your man, they cannot not all be as good as Britney Spears
