Your only mistake is disobeying your parents. Anyone can get married and start a family but not everyone can reach/accomplish their goals. You had an opportunity to live out your single life, you had an opportunity to educate yourself/chase your dreams and goals. This is America not Laos where our parents/elderly were involved in early marriage. Your 1st husband didn’t appreciate you and took you for granted because he never worked hard enough to catch you as his girlfriend/wife. You were an easy catch for him. We learn from our past mistakes but do forgive yourself and it was his loss. Glad you got out of the unhealthy marriage and moved on with a good man.
