Brilliant video! Another great curiosity in this story is that three weeks ago, Belenenses got their first win in professional competition. 1-0 against Tondela. The scorer? André Serra, a central defender and the only player that made all this way up since 2018!
The Portuguese league is the only in Europe without television rights broadcasted shared by all clubs (wtf). That makes clubs almost bankrupt. That belensnses problem started way before b-sad. I was playing in their youth team, and saw them in the UEFA cup, and then out of nowhere we didn't even have water in the stadium. A LOT of corruption. They sold their best players close to nothing to agents, and bought a truck of Brazilian average players that barely knew how to kick a ball and they all came from this one strange Brazilian club - obviously they all disappeared three months later- . The club avoided back to back relegations after being saved by the league after other clubs in the league being bankrupt and relegated instead of them,( on the field belenenses was indeed relegated TWICE, just to be saved). That investment fund came and helped, but they turned out to be poachers who just wanted the club to get money out of it. They merged into one, and it did work out for a few months. Then, when that investment fund realized that there was absolutely no money to be made, they backed off, and the club decided to leave as well. So it was a story of mainly how poorly the league is managed ( check desportivo das aves, a club winning the cup and disappearing the season after), how corrupt is this league, and how in the hell can two clubs merge and split in a few months. Final note: the investment fund just disolved their fusion with that other club, and they both lost professional football, which means B- SAD no longer exists.
