Hida Furukawa is a major tourist attraction in the Hida region of North Gifu, known as the "Little Kyoto of Okuhida".
The Seto River runs through the historical town and from spring throughout autumn its beauty is greatly enhanced by a vivid spectacle of colourful carp swimming gracefully in the river.
As Hida Furukawa is blessed with nature's abundance, sake brewing has flourished, using the plentiful spring water and delicious rice. There are many sake breweries in town that you can easily visit and enjoy drinking.
