    Hi guys! My husband just uses his phone to keep track of steps each day. I know a lot of people like their fitbits too. I agree though that gadgets don't really motivate in the long run. Set an alarm to get up every half hour and move! My husband also got a standing desk at work that he loves. Most at his company have started using those. Also.. moderation. Allow yourself one pop on the weekend! Don't restrict yourselves totally.. that never works! Good luck you guys! Love the princess Belle page you colored!

    Hi Shannon.. first off, love the glasses! Since you like Apple products, you will LOVE the Apple Watch. I had a Fitbit charge and liked it a lot but ended up getting the Apple Watch and I never wore the Fitbit again! The AW is not only great for exercise, but it's awesome getting texts/calls/emails/notifications right on your watch while it automatically reminds you to stand up once an hour, tracks your heart rate, counts your steps etc. Great watch for exercise and great Apple product, highly recommend. *not sponsored lol! Love you guys!

    I have the Disney Animals book. All pages are either animals or even few Disney princess/princes. Which is cool. My oldest colouring pencils don't really work on it though (probably 20 years old lol) but new pencils do . I've only finished MLP activity book recently so lots of colouring to do!

    My mom has a Fitbit and she loves it because she can keep track of when she goes to the gym for how many steps she walks every day and I recommend a Fitbit

    I love my Apple Watch! I got it specifically for fitness! It motivates me to get up and get moving! I used to have a Fitbit and liked that, but the fitness features on the apple watch I like so much better!

    I love my Apple Watch, I've had it for about a year and a half. It syncs up with your iPhone, which is really great. I like the activity tracker, I get notifications throughout the day- progress reports on my activity, and reminders to stand up once per hour. You can set activity goals, and get achievements for hitting goals. I've also used a garmen Vivofit, and I personally prefer my Apple Watch. I like that it has all the extra functionality.

    I have both an Apple Watch and several versions of fitbits. I used the clip-on style of fitbit for a couple of years but always got frustrated when I would accidentally forget to put it on. I then switched to the kind you wear on your wrist. (The Alta) This one was easier to remember that I had it on so I only took it off weekly to charge. Unfortunately it eventually developed a problem where the battery would suddenly die with no notification after only a couple of days. Sometimes it would last a week, sometimes a day. I would be wearing it for days thinking it was tracking steps but was actually dead. All this time I had the apple watch too but hadn't really looked into it for fitness until recently. When I finally did I found I like it so much better than the fitbit. I wear it everyday anyway for its other features but the fitness portion is really nice. It has great charts, built in reminders to get up and move, and records your steps and heart rate. Plus it has all of the other neat features of an apple watch like email and text notifications, etc. Overall, after using both for a couple of years, I'm sticking with only my apple watch now and loving it. Sorry for the long comment but hopefully this helps in your decision!

    I have an ifit fitness tracker it works with android and apple. it's not nearly as expensive as an apple watch but focuses on fitness and doesn't have all the fancy parts as Apple watch but that's why I like it.

    Hi Shannon! I have an Apple Watch and I highly recommend it. I lift weights, swim laps, and run. The Apple Watch keeps track of all of it, pulse more. If you are trying to get healthy and/lose weight (you are beautiful the way you are), then I recommend the Fitbit blaze. There is an app for the Fitbit where you can track your activity and food intake. I'm pretty sure the Apple Watch does not do that. I do not track my sleep though, so I can't help you with that. But, I had the Fitbit and now have the Apple Watch and love them both. My Fitbit pooed the bed 8 months after I got it and it was a technical issue, nothing I did. So, I also recommend getting the protection plan. I hope this helps.

    I'm in fitness and health promotion, it's a college program and we used fit bit for a assignment and I love it. It's interesting to see how many steps you take in the day and reminds you to move. It's the Fitbit Alta. Also it tracks sleep as well. Highly recommended it but do your research and see what you prefer :)
    It's never to late to get fit and eat healthy you'll notice a big difference in health, sleep, energy, mood, etc.
    You could also try getting a personal trainer to help with exercises and meal plans. It's a little pricy but really up to you. It's helps to know if you're doing a workout correctly and such.
    Hopefully some suggestions helped. After I graduate from my program I will like to become a personal trainer and teach fitness classes :)

    hi paul & Shannon in this video you guys were talking about going back and forth between eating well then slipping which we all do something thats helping me is joy Bauer book from junk food to joy food so far I am down 5lbs it's great they don't take away your favorite food just teach you how to alter them good luck you guys I think it's awesome your trying to be proactive about your health

    I would highly recommend getting a Fitbit because it keeps track of how many steps you have done all day and you are meant to do 1000 steps a day but you can do more but if you don't like walking then you can just go to that number and the only reason I know this is because my mum has one and I would really like one but my mum said she will get me one for my birthday like and give it a thumbs up if you agree

    I love Fitbit I am on my third upgrade. Personally I like them because they arnt quite as expensive and I like the look and feel of them. I currently have the Fitbit Alta and it's is nice and dainty/feminine. I like it

    You probably already got one, but I love my fitbit vera. It can be set to remind you to move if you set too. It also lets you know how your doing.

    I find prisma colors are a pain for coloring. I use the cheap Crayolas in mine. Sometimes the abstracts are good if your sitting in a college class or waiting for a college class when you go back to the same thing all the time, they make for actually easier stopping points some times.

    I Have one of the original apple watches and I do love it. The activity tracker works but I don't use it for sheep tracking as I do need to charge it at night.

    I have both a Fitbit flex 2 and an Apple Watch. I enjoy both very much the same. I like the Fitbit because you are able to do challenges with your friends and such not to mention it tracks my sleep!!! I did noticed I stopped wearing the Apple Watch less. The plus side on the Fitbit is price!! Hope you find something you enjoy! :)

    Instead of an apple watch if you want to keep track of your exercise something cheaper you can get is a step counter. You can make it a goal to do 10,000 steps a day. Good ways to get these steps is walking in the morning and in the evening (go for a family walk or something), or just do whatever you can to keep moving and get the steps you need. You can buy step counters basically anywhere. Hope you consider taking my advice!

    The num noms lights series 2 is out as well, and squinkies have a new blind bag I think they are neons this time. I don't remember if you do littlest pet shop or not, but they came out with a new season. There is is also a new doll line Shannon might like called Enchantamals, which are dolls that have some animal features and come with little animals they have the features of. There is a pack with I think six in them, they are smaller than barbies but larger than strawberry short cake by a bit to give you an idea.

    I recommend a Fitbit. I have one and I love it! The apple watch is much bigger, is much more expensive, and has a very short battery life.

    Honestly I own a Fitbit and the biggest challenge for me is putting it on! Haha when I do you use it though it's nice and I think less expensive than an Apple Watch. I guess it depends if you just want it for fitness or if you want the other functions that would come with the watch.

    Hey Shannon about the apple watch my mom has an apple watch and she uses it for exercise and a calendar for keeping track of stuff she needs to do, and I also have one and I use it for exercise and games (because I'm 10) so overall its an amazing idea to get an apple watch(there good for so much use).

    Hi Shannon (and Paul lol), I don't have a watch but I thought I would still comment. I think all those goodies people buy to get motivated to exercice (including me lol) are not useful.
    Of course it is a plus but the most important is to exercise, a little bit when you can. A little is still better than none and it's more easy to do than to set goals and track it, that's my opinion.
    Same for eating healthy or bad as you say, you should find the right middle and have a little of both so you don't feel on a diet.

    i don't know about the apple watch, but i know a lot of people like the fitbit. i think it would just depend on how much money you're wanting to spend. Also if you have a fitbit you can get the fitbit app on your iphone so you can keep track that way. (plus i'm sure there's more apps on the iphone that can track everything as well.)

    I have an Apple Watch and it keeps me moving! It has an activity tracker. It reminds you to get up and move each hour. My goal is 30 minutes of exercise each day and it helps with that. Sometimes at the end of the day I walk up and down the stairs just so I can get that 30 minutes in. I am a big fan! You can ask me any questions if you would like, we have everything Apple including Apple TV 😁

    dear Paul and shannon I hope this letter finds you in good spirits, I too am struggling with my weight I have a very long road ahead my weight has gotten so bad I need oxygen. I finally took this as a hint so over the past few months I have been watching what I eat and trying to move as much as I can; not only can I stand for a full 30 minutes now but I lost 30 LBS for and I am now able to keep my own blood oxygenated ( O2 was 78 ) now it's 91, I tell you my story to encourage you that you can met your goal but how I did it, I went back to basics, just like mom said everything in moderation, you can't deprive yourself of those wonderful yummy treats that make you happy but you cant make them your focal point either so here is what I do, make sure there is color if ots monotone something is wrong always try to have a fruit or veg. on your plate I noticed the frozen veg section is my new best friend I dont have to prep or think about it I grab a bag of veg. and that goes on the plate your meat should be no bigger than your palm and no thicker than the area( the fatty part by your thumb )and try to go old grain like couscous or quinoa but becareful you dont need much that stuff swells up big time and of course there are a bunch of desk exercises you can do to keep moving ,, I hope all this is inspiring and helpful and may the force be with you

    I have an Apple Watch and it wasn't reliable enough for fitness and activity tracking unfortunately so I have a Fitbit too! One on each wrist 😂 I look silly but the Apple Watch is good for somethings but like I said the Fitbit is great for fitness and activity tracking ☺️💜

    I had an Apple watch when they first came out and I have to be honest, it was super expensive and I didn't find it any more helpful to me than just using a cheap pedometer to keep track of my steps. It was a lot of money that ended up sitting in a desk drawer. However, I also keep my phone with me when I go for walks, or ignore it completely while exercising so I never needed the extra features it had for emails and whatnot.

    The Apple Watch is cool but it dies so quickly. I only ever used it to exercise so the other features didn't matter to me. I got a Charge 2 Fitbit last month and really like it. I have an apple phone and it synches up with the charge really well. The battery last for a week too. So much better than the Apple Watch. I'd recommend a Charge 2 opposed to Apple and I'm an apple person too. Hope that helps.

    I had a Fitbit that I liked but then stopped using it. I really want one you can use while swimming. I'm not sure if the Apple Watch is waterproof.
    July 1st is the start huh? We're trying to do better as well. I can totally relate on those binging days! 😂 Paul's going to have to stay away from the bakery cart. LOL. Do you have plans for the 4th? Maybe consider starting after if your plans involve going to any gatherings with food. Maybe I will start with y'all and see how I do. My original plan was June. Already the end of June and no pounds lost. Whoops. I also need to stay away from bakery carts....😂

    I wish you so much success on eating healthy! I'm in the process of losing weight and I did lose 100 pounds but ended up going up 9 pounds after reaching my 100. I am going back down again and I can't wait to get to goal. It's amazing how much better you feel when you eat much healthier and exercise! :)

    Apple Watch is great but the Fitbit charge 2 p, really does the same thing and is a bit cheaper, and is more accurate. My sister has an Apple Watch and I have a Fitbit and when we walk together mine is way more accurate than hers, how I know is because one place that we walk has the miles and mine is on point and hers always says way more steps than it should!

    I would never normally say this.... but gosh... I wish you could donate one of those Disney coloring books to me! Like I said, I NEVER EVER say anything like that.... but I enjoy coloring so much, but now, on an extremely limited budget, I just can't afford it. We don't have places like Savers, Tuesday Morning or Goodwill. I would recommend checking out DDP Yoga... it is GOOD exercise that doesn't take hours of time, and a new way of eating... I would invest in it instead of a watch.

    My husband has a series 2 Apple Watch. He says it's great for keeping track of steps you take, calories and all that stuff. They recommend apps he said on the App Store for workouts. Hope it helps xx

    Oh also I do weight watchers and have for years. The best program out there for a lifestyle change. I lost 80 pounds
