All politics put aside this is a great rendition of this song, with a great singer, fantastic horn arrangements sang in French with a brief Spanish narrative and a brief history in English done with much Heart!
İstanbul; her ismini duyduğumda Kadıköy'ümün o devasa çınar ağaçları, Üsküdar'ımın o hoş yağmurlu ve rutubetli havası, Ataşehir'imin o hiç bitmez inşaatları, Beyoğlu'mun o naif mimarisi, Fatih'imin o tarihi ortamı aklıma gelir.
Finally found the lyrics! or at least something that looks like them. RUclips is not allowing me to post the link but just google dario moreno istanbul on lyrics mania... @bjerkely12 No. The Ottomans, as well as the rest of the Muslim world, called Constantinople "Kostantiniyye" which basically means "the place of Constantine". This name, which is basically the equivalent of "Constantinople", was used throughout the time of the Ottoman Empire, even as other names were sometimes favored. Besides that, the Turks, Greeks and other Mediterranean folks had many names for Constantinople. Even the word Istanbul is derived from the Armenians.

@magicianra Thank you i'll take that as a compliment. And you failed to make me resort to profanity.
@bjerkely12 Nope. The Ottomans called it Constantinople for a very long time.
Je suis ne a İstanbul.. Qui est la chanteuse? et paroles svp.
Istanbul
Et tout le long du Bosphore
J'faisait déjà des rêves d'or
Istanbul
My name is Aïcha and I sing you the song
I live in Paris but Istanbul is where I belong
They say Istanbul means from the city
But on seven hills and the Bosphore
She's very pretty
Grand Bazar is my favorite
and I love the (?), the diamonds, the silver and the gold
It's the feeling that gets me walking on the streets thousands of years old
Center of the universe and capital of the greatest empire of the world
(One phrase ??)
This song was written by Dario Moreno in 1955
He was my grandpas's friend
Now rearranged by my daddy and his band along with (lady street?)
