4K Calais - France - Walking tour

Calais centre has a port that is the shortest distance of the English Channel. On a clear sunny day you can see the white cliffs of Dover in the uk. Calais is known by the brits as a shopping area for cheap cigarettes and booze.

Excellent video; I have been through Calais many times over the years and I honestly feel it is such an underrated town. People usually get off the ferry and get straight on the motorway, there is a lot of history in Calais and the surrounding areas such as Sangatte, Wissant and Adres and worth a visit.

This area in Calais ("Calais-nord") was 100 % destroyed during WW2 (1940 and 1944) by bombing raids and rebuilt during 1950's. The tower which is "la tour du guet" was built in the XIIIth-XIVth century and was not destroyed during WW2.
