- NiKo has competed at eight Katowices. He’s lost three finals, two of which were consecutive. And now, finally, he’s a champion.
But that’s not all.
hunter was the MVP, jks the two-team two-time, m0NESY the youngest trophy hoister ever and HooXi, well . . . let’s just say that the ‘G’ in G2 officially stands for Gigachad.

4:20 fucking Hooxi scooped up some confetti and threw it at Niko lmao, I love this team
Thats why I fucking love Hoox1. The guy is just built different. He was trolled for the first few months and he still acknowledged his shortcomings. people memed on him and he laughed with them. He had a lot of pressure and a lot to work on. And the man did it. He knows how to celebrate the success of his teammates and how to push them forward. And he is such a humble and natural guy. He truly is a gigachad...
@@ganeshmarathe2964 He didn't exactly laugh at the meme. According to what he said when they won The World Finals, he spent the first months crying because he felt like a failure to the team. Which to me is even more impressive, because a lot of people would break at that point and simply give up. Hooxi instead decided to improve himself in every aspect, so he could offer his team the IGL they deserved.
@@LshowKnows Aye, I love how he came back with massive improvement. Absolute Gigachad
@@LshowKnows A true gigachad in all meanings.
So happy for Niko, he's been so deserving of a big trophy win, bout time he finally gets what he deserves and more!
+1
He deserves more. I mean he need to win major and he deserve to get one.
S1mple and then Niko, finally
Love the shout-out to IHC! They did indeed made us proud and make sure to look forward to them!
i'm just saying, we should have expected this version of g2, if hooxi was able to bring such a no name team like Copenhagen flames to such deep runs, imagine what he could do with superstar talent
For real, he actually made it to playoffs in antwerb major with a mediocre team
Have you forgotten what that CPH lineup was like? Hooxi had Jabbi+nicoodoz+roej+xyphon, it wasn't like he lead 4 puggers to the major lol
@@FacelessBeanie back then they were just puggers bro
@@aoishi4781 No they where way more than puggers bruh
@@alexengelandreasen They were not? Even casters and analyst said that back then they were just puggers. It's not an insult to start off as a pugger, alot of top fraggers in the scene started out that way. Ropz,Stewie, etc
I've been a big fan of G2 for years now, ever since they brought in Hunter and Nexa, and it's been quite a ride the last year. It's a good time to be a G2 fan for sure, and this team is proving to be something special.
Same here, stuck with them through the bad times of late, great to see smiles on the guys faces
I started following the team when they had Shox & kennyS (+ Amanek & Jackz), and yet these have somehow been my favourite couple years to be a fan of G2.
Niko getting signed was massive. I also had big hopes for Aleksi, which was unfortunate, but all the low points were worth it to get an insane team like this, that's still filled to the brim with personality.
G2 fans eating good this year!
G2 is just on a different level right now
Passion like Dimitri's reaction there......is why CS will never die.
Dude it was so sweet. I've been a G2 fan since I watched my first pro CS event in 2017, and we've been mid ever since then. I jumped out of my chair and yelled man, I was so happy. Then I got to watch my Chiefs win the Super Bowl! What a day!
Deserve really, good job on his part!!
Big props to Heroic for ending the winning streak on inferno, monster tournament from jabbi, he could just as easily have won the MVP as hunter or jks. Let's hope that faze and Navi can lift their level to compete with G2 and heroic. Well have a hell of a year with some crazy CS. Great to see heroic perform even with stavn having a generally bad event. Sjuush and jabbi stepped up to the plate and i legitimately think there is no better pit/a player on inferno than sjuush, man's a monster
Honestly, thank fucking god they ended it. G2 members said they didnt generally care about it and only wanted to win the trophy because that was their goal, but (cant remember who said it in a post game interview) it was almost good that they lost a map because it completely resets the built up pressure of keeping that streak alive
@@Pyxyty jks, during the DHL mvp interview I think. Even as a viewer I remember feeling similar, first feeling bad about everything that map loss meant, then realising they could just fully focus on winning that match now without distractions. And it clearly showed.
@@Mixu. ah yep, remember it now, thanks mate
Can't believe Niko hasn't won one of the big 3 trophies til now
2:07 makes me really want some friends to watch games with. such a beautiful moment lmao
People I know dont watch no e-sports tournaments :( You have to be a die hard cs go fan to watch them, and those are very rare even in 2023.
Gonna be honest, 90% of their stream was boring as hell, specially if there weren't any NA teams playing. He spent the whole time talking about random stuff, basically not caring about the games and offering NA CS history lessons to Liz. His reactions to insane shots and plays from other teams were so meh, and no offense to Liz but she didn't care a single second about the match. She obviously knows more about Valorant than CS and has a bigger love to that scene, so majority of the time she just stayed there listening to her colleague fanboying over Liquid.
@@LshowKnows Well i only have the context of the clip and I'm not interested in their stream. I just want some boys to watch the game like I do with regular sports
@@cameronburdette8565 Yeah yeah thats fun for sure. Me and my friend usually watch CS games when its teams we both follow, specially when its our favorite teams against one another
I watch alone, but not live , i watch live about 2-5 minute and continue watching in history youtube, and avoid spoiler who win or lose, i just finish watching g2 vs heroic today🤣
From Onliners to almost every Finals in most tournaments... Heroic are never to be overlooked too. GGs
complexity and IHC impressed me so much, really excited to see what they do next
I was waiting this video for hours and finally theScore did it.
Was an awesome tournament once again and finally G2 made it work all the way to the end .
Looking forward to the next major to see how this year continues for CS :)
Imma guessin´ we´re gonna be in a proper rollercoaster
Love all the boys on G2, god I hope they take it home in Paris.
that G2 vs Heroic match-up was absolutely worth the finals, it was a blast to watch
Well deserved. Long awaited.
Niko deserved this for sure. G2 simply looked like they were an entire tier above everyone else this tournament
Jks was almost happy
Soon major champ hopefully
I need Dimitri to do more videos man
Heroic and g2 are simply the best two right now. These two teams are going to have a 2021 Navi vs FaZe rivalry this year
Katowice 2023 was great.
Let's goooo
G2 was at its weakest on the first 3 maps on the final, it was clear they weren't playing their game nor were enjoying as always, M0nesy was committing mistakes he never does and was having a lot of difficulty holding check points as CT. It was Heroic time to capitalize on it and Cadian was playing amazingly, yet G2 still managed to resist and somehow win the maps.
Then on Ancient something happened after the long pause. The match started and it was immediately obvious that the G2 from the rest of the major was back. Hooxi opened being exactly where he should, and doing exactly what was needed, even hard carrying the first half, then as CTs they were impenetrable as they were for most of the time while playing CT.
Amazing work
If you think G2 weren't "playing their game" on Nuke and Mirage then we didn't watch the same final buddy
@@FacelessBeanie I wont agree with everything he said but i will agree that m0nesy was pretty lacklustre in the first 2 maps(not including the end of mirage) he seemed to be missing some pretty easy shots, especially for his standards, luckily the rest of G2 can make up for it.
@@FacelessBeanie G2 wasn't tbh in the 1st halves of those, their comeback also wasn't like how they performed in Ancient. That inferno loss was what made them win.
@@FacelessBeanie personally, yeah they didnt really look like the same.
Distinctly remember some rounds on Nuke where they exec'ed the site but just didnt run in for some reason, or when they werent trading and peeking to trade when they shouldve. They looked really unconfident in the first halves of both those maps, only making comebacks in the 2nd half (although more for Mirage, since Nuke is a very ct sided map and they were cts in the 2nd half for that).
After the map loss on Inferno and the 30 min break, it was like they suddenly were back in focus and just shredded on the T side of ancient, it was fucking amazing to watch
niko asked jks if he could win him a trophy, and he did🥲
Damn was the redemption arc good!
Niko deserves this
The cousins really did it 🥺
Whenever I see Hunter in a 1v1, Dude rarely loses.
Not only 1v1, if two names of Hunter, Money, jks on the map, you would expect they will have a 2v4 or 2v5 easily. G2 won so many 2v4 clutches in this series
@@framitas8724 so many time I say eh they are saving yet time and time again they still have these crazy 2v4 or even 5 and I just sat their unable to process how
Watching those Team Liquid matches really gave me a run for my blood pressure and my sanity.
Let's not forget that Heroic has been so dominant and let's admit it, we doubted G2 if they can beat Heroic but man, G2 proved us all wrong!
G2 fans were scared for sure, but i think i can speak for most of us when i say we believed haha. So proud of them!
4:04 why you do him like that? XD
hooxies world
Gigachad effect
Because of IHC now there's a lot of CS tournament even LAN on SEA region now
On every game before the final: Game 2-0 = G2
On the final game: Game 3-1 = G2
Name checks out
don't say he did it until that boy got his major
Jks won Two iem Katowice 2022 and 2023
vit liq is the craziest match of the tourney imo
CadiaN will Rise!!!
From being eliminated in the Major Qualifiers, from being smashed by FaZe 14-2 in the group stages of Blast and in the brink of being eliminated there as well, they went on right after that to a historic 22-1 in maps and counting...
Including against FaZe and NaVi, and even #2 Heroic
Boys, he did it
I wanna see Niko win a major
can you please cover the sc2 katowice? it has a really nice underdog story with oliveira beating all the favorites! :D
Last yr Karrigan this yr niko nice
Hey thats me @3:04 NICE
The score with a video under 6 minutes? WR speed
I'm a simple man, I see Dimitri, I upvote ^^
1:16 left him hanging
Didn't invest much in the CS scene nowadays but that 1:11 guy reminds me of the grown up strangers things kid
Hallzerk fnally representing Bodø in cs
Been a 1nonly csgo fanboy on g2 forever since kennyS era is wholesome
CSGO is a timeless sport
bro you can't do him dirty and show us the nuke clip
No way
3:05 meanwhile NiP to big for the charts
NiKo carried so many teams he played with to the finals or at least close to finals even tho they had no right to. It's not even funny. Yet he never seemed to talk shit on his team.
A well deserved champion. Congrats to the entire team. They were all really good.
hooxi too good
Being mongolian who loves esports i didnt believe that IHC beat cloud9 and furia all of my classmates were talking about it the while day
THE K IN JKS STANDS FOR KATOWICE
Fun fact, "Katowice" is already a plural form, so if you add an -s to that, you get double plural form in a word.
Just some insight, because why not
Pretty he sure cried when he choked that one time.
NiKo major win next?
Quick comment on Liquid here
They were playing well but G2 was just on a whole nother level this time around. Liquid couldn't get anything going against them but I think we really need to take a step back and honestly appreciate where the scene is at right now
I can't really recall a time like this past year and the beginning of this year where it feels every team is just as competitive as the next and any team could win at any event.
As a Liquid fan, it hurts because I want them to win as much as possible but as a csgo fan I think we should all appreciate just how competitive the scene is right now.
..... But also please Liquid for the LOVE OF GOD stop losing eco rounds. I'm dying over here.
I saw the title of the video, had no idea who "he" was by the thumbnail and kept scrolling by this video dozens of times.
The only reason why I'm commenting is because I like this channel and want it to do well so after noticing myself doing this for at least the tenth time I just wanted to say that the video's presentation is the exact opposite of clickbait.
Can you please highlight StarCraft 2 at IEM Katowice? There was a huge Cinderella story about a Chinese player (Oliviera) who never won any major tournaments that won World Championship.
How is NO ONE talking about G2s headcoach Swani?
I guess it's because it's hard to understand how much impact a coach has on a team because we rarely get to see or hear what he tells the team or what advice he gives or how he keeps them in line and shit. Always easy to praise the player that you're watching for the entire match, never easy to give praise to someone you dont hear a single word from during the game
If a NA team would have won Katowice , I swear this video would have been fcking 30 mins long with everything NA .
Can you make video on insance clutches in IEM Katowice.....
He can cook
Here after Stabbi
The curse is broken for Niko
Now its time for Arteezy.
so hooxi was right after all.
hate how much i laughed at 0:27
They kicked jks guys 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The other top teams were fought for survival: Team Liquid, Faze, Navi well G2 just 2-0'd ALL OF THEM. Speechless.
Niko used to be the Harry kane of cs. Now Niko has more big trophies
1:16 Guy wtf is this Resolution ? Looks Like 17 Zoll
Good event besides the third dead crowd in a row
We South Dakotans actually have almost no accent other than a mild touch of Fargo.
5:36 / 5:57
Why didn't he show any clips from G2 matches?
What year was the 2 consecutive finals? The faze year was 2022 and I thought 2021 was Gambit and Niko didn't get to the final. I thought it was 2020 with Navi that they went to the finals
Just look up the Katowice event in Liquipedia and you can see its entire history mate.
@@Pyxyty i did. He said 2 consecutive finals that he lost. Faze beat them in 2022 but 2021 it was Gambit that won against virtus pro and Navi beat g2 in 2020. How is that 2 consecutive lost?
@@Chavanun555 it was when Niko was in Faze, 2017 and 2018
@@Pyxyty damn so long ago
@@Pyxyty wait so niko lost 2018 kato and the major, damn no wonder faze pretty never recovered from that year with that lineup

LMFAOOO why yall doing him like that
Wait they play 4:3 not stretched? Why?
WAIT.....NIP HAD 87??? WTF
Hi, here's a video about G2. But first, let me tell you how the NA teams did
W notification
I didn't get the notification for this video...RUclips...hello?
only thing left for G2 is a worlds trophy in League of Legends
So sick for G2, chemistry is real, NEXA and ALEXI both better IMO, fit matters, look at NAVI without Boombl4, shadows of themselves.
hope you’re wrong about Heroic. it’s far too much fun hating them, and at least i can hate and laugh. just hating would be dull
grand slam Denied
I could never support niko or simple because of how arrogant they were, I still don't support simple but my feelings about Niko changed. Maybe a lot of that has to do with our Lord and Saviour Sir Gigachad Hooxi, he made me root for him and G2, but in this moment when he finally won and he was crying I felt him. His voice shaking made me cry as well.
You do realize s1mple has become less toxic from his Liquid days, don't you? If you don't, you're one delusional guy.
Pog
FYI jks is MVP.
