I have to say that the breakout star of this drama is the Emperor!! I love him!! This character is kind, intelligent, fun, mischievous, and downright sly!! Notice how he doesn’t interfere when the “power ladies” are battling. He waits, listens, then acts at the appropriate time. This character is so UNLIKE other emperors in c-dramas. I repeat I LOVE HIM!
My favorite moment is when emperor hears both his wives suggest to send the aunt away, he looks all shocked and turns to the uncle and the uncle gives him an affirmative node to ship his annoying wife to somewhere away from them 😂😃

I keep coming back to rewatch this scene. It’s perfect, they all dislike the aunt, so when they see the chance to send her on her way they jump on it. SS is so good here, speaking up for herself and not allowing the step mother ruin her day. Then finding out even the king doesn’t like ZL step mother and orders her to not leave the house. Sending a clear message of mess with ZL and his future wife and you’ll be made to pay the price 🥰

this is one of my favorite scenes of the series.... he let Naio Naio know that she can do whatever she want, and he will handle it... and true to his words.. he brought the cavalry.... The Emperor, The Empress, and Consort Yue.... The best trio... he never interfered once cause he knew Naio Naio can fight this battle.... and sure enough she brought the house down.... General Ling was damn proud of her through out the scene....❤❤❤❤❤ Consort Yue is amazing, bold, self righteous lady... although in her youth she had conflicts with madam Huo, but she knew what is right and wrong, her conflict never came in the way to speak up for her.... love how decisive she is, even when emperor had a 2nd marriage, she still was confident on their love and knew that she is the officially married 1st wife... loved her character.....😍😍😍😍😍 the most cute moment, which i replay over and over again is... when old man wanted to divorce his wife... and we can see, Naio Naio went to hide beside Zisheng and he gave her his arm to hold on.. and than they slowly backed away to leave the elders deal with the chaos.......😘😘😘😘🤭🤭🤭🤭🤫🤫🤫 ❣❣❣❣

The problem with most of the characters in this drama is, that they can't accept the fact that karma comes for them. They try to use their titles and backgrounds to conceal and hide the truth. When everything they did comes to light, then they want to play the victim and blame someone else, by using the same excuses, they been slandered or they been humiliated. Truth is, they did it to themselves. They are humiliated and are humiliating themselves.
I must say that it only drama where you se a clever, cunning,intelligent,kind morally upright and loving both towards his children whether they are stupid and cruel, or like himself cunning, intelligent and morally upright as the 3 prince or his adopted son. First emperor I saw in drama General's Lady ,It stars Tang Min and Caesar Wu. In that serial the emperor fight with his brother to pass his inheritance to brother and in the end it’s brothers son his nephew who inherited the throne because both brothers didn’t want to sit on the throne.
FreshDrama Eng Sub is the best so far I’ve came across, it’s quite accurate and easy to follow, BUT THE ADD-ON BACKGROUND MUSIC IS VERY ANNOYING 😂. I can't hear when people are talking while the music is continuing playing. I would recommend to keep the original is the best. Video picture is also good. Just let go the background music please.
