Late Tuesday Evening, my daughters and dumpster dove and picked out produce, and fresh ice cold gersey chocolate, and lowfat milk. The rest of the food we donated to the rescue mission in Detroit Michigan.
Nice my aldis dumpster find was all merch. 6 solar umbrellas with stands .a 4 tier planter and a 4 hook plant hanger didn't have any more room in car had to leave a umbrella
Aldi just doesn't care if they're shown up to be liars and not giving their food to the needy like they claim. I'm sad but also glad that you rescued this haul!
Here they are not allowed to donate returns, but they do donate food that is in store. All returns go into a cart and straight to the trash. You just never know what people might of done to it like leaving cold and frozen stuff out too long before returning etc. They can’t risk it. This was what a manager told me.
It makes me feel good to see you rescue perfectly good food; shame on the stores who refuse to donate. Apparently; it is perfectly okay to give out "best buy" food in some places; most of what I was given while homeless was "expired" and every piece of it was fine. I was so very grateful to receive it. Warms my heart to watch you guys!

Okay, Frugal Mommy and Frugal Daddy, you have given me the inspiration and courage to finally dumpster dive! You see, I feed a whole bunch of critters every day and night - stray cat, raccoons, possum and so on. They eat mainly dry cat and dog food and holy heck! I spend a lot of money getting bags at the grocery store. I’m going to check our local petsmart and petco dumpsters! I learned from the best- thanks!
I feed deer, foxes, squirrels, a stray cat, and birds daily. The price of apples and sweet potatoes went up so giving less of that and added feed corn and of course house hold scraps. There is one fox that always shows up with one deer, it's so sweet that they made friends🥰
Once again, that haul was AMAZING!!! I would LOVE to get all that deliciousness for free! It’s still hard to believe they would toss those 4 HUGE ribs without marking them down low enough that someone would buy them for sure. It just doesn’t make sense that they’d rather they end up in the dumpster, than just marking them 50-75% off, for instance. We have tags here 🇨🇦 that say, “Enjoy tonight! 30% off” when meat is on it’s last day, and it is rare to see, because people like me aim for those tags!! Happy diving!

I had to doma walmart pickup yesterday- noticed a huge HVAC crew outside getting ready to go in and fix fridges. Wouldn't you know it, the dumpsters were full of probably still cold food....but behind a locked gate. Wtf, walmart. Our local food pantries have been saying they are low for weeks.

The lemons.....make a digestive (graham cracker) crust with butter, mix 500g (same as 4 sticks of butter) of Philli cream cheese and a tin of condensed milk, and the juice and zest of a lemon. Mix well and plonk into the crust and stick in the fridge for a couple of hours.......so fattening, but oh so good! xxx
I go to the food bank and I get out dated meats all the time and no problem. Just freeze them. If it smells bad toss it. I get extra and I give to my daughter and neighbors. All love ❤ the free food.

Hey Amy, did you know you can pull the outer leaves from the Boston Lettuce leaving the middle & plant the roots in your garden or windowsill & get some free lettuce. If you grow some in your window you can have free lettuce year round.

I went to Aldi's yesterday to check the prices out on meat...I could not afford it, the prices are comparable to name chains....and I have noticed the chains stores are condensing aisles and putting more products on their shelving units to make it look full, so it seems that less products are coming in so there are going old school and putting a numbers of products but in sections to fill the gaps so it doesn't look empty and eliminating shelving units....Aldi's stores are smaller so I didn't see any change in the floor arrangements...we also have Spartan Stores which are independently owned but I haven't seen if they are following the same trend as the chain stores...!

I have never heard Aldi claim that they donate food. They have their own corporate grant program where they donate monetarily to local charities.

Our Walmart donates baked goods that is going out-of-date to our local Salvation Army every week.

Barbecue extravaganza! Lots of lemons to make lemon water lemon curd lemon pie lemon loveliness
Boil the ribs first and then grill with barbecue sause,..have with baked beans and coleslaw!
