- Deployment assist technologies like the Emerson Wave, The BRAMP, The Snag and others like it are great at some things but ill-advised for others.
Listen to the video carefully and if you disagree with any of it, I’d like to hear from you in the comments.

Thank you for working in real world situations and showing points like this. I highly respect you because of videos like this. Please keep up the great work for those of us that live in worlds of violence.
I'm guessing that would be a great way to cut your fingers off mid-fight, though.
I mean you’re not wrong
Use fixed blade knife!
Eye opening advice for a real and potentially dangerous situation. Thank you 🙏🏼
Excellent point my brother!
Thank you for taking the time to point his out.
Whoa buddy, the internet hates common sense and accuracy! 👏👏 My Talon II is just quick deploy from pocket.. (faster than stiletto), and with 5.11 pants (reinforced pocket really “grabs” hook well) it’s better than most for having a folding knife for primary… but yes, even after 8yrs with mine, I’d say 70-80% accurate draw… and hope WHEN I NEED IT.. I get that 70-80% to happen…
I like your honesty
i've been i using emerson for long without a budge
What’s a good way though is the reverse grip with the ring hole. Using that as a striker creates a bridging moment or even a flashy spin and then after the deployment. I agree for forward grip it’s not the best.
Like always 💪 great video 🙏 blessings thanks for all that you do.
Try holding the karambit properly. It makes more sense when you do so.
Former criminal and CO - Short blade & fixed are what did the DPS in my experience - Retention rings are decent, but I prefer retention hooks. Like on the MDV Plus One knife. I modified my Canku C1134 to have more of a hook than a ring. Increased my draw speed significantly by not having to "finger the hole" first. The C1134 weighs 43-46 grams... That's all you need.
Folding knives, waves and hooks and all this fancy ish under stress? Nah, I'm good.

Remember it’s one persons opinion folks. Don’t judge the world by your own shitty standards. What works for some may not work for others.
I carry a otf but I know there are problems with that under stress
Practice must be done to address said issues.
I don’t see why the wave feature would be on anything other than a karambit. With the ring, at least have a better chance of not losing the blade as you deploy. Good points though.
My favorite part is watching trained fighters see a sparring opponent opposite of them and reflexively open their hands to get ready to parry a punch or something... and drop their knives. It happens all the time unless you've been drilling with a knife. Now add that stress of trying to deploy off a persons clothing... that ish is falling right on the ground and you'll be standing there with a dumb look on your face.
I solve this problem by carrying a fixed blade knife.
I gotta get some more ink
I totally agree.
With how knife laws vary by country, state / province, and local areas it can be tricky to pick a knife. For me, I go with folding knives such SOG Aegis but that may not be legal for you.
I would love "auto knives" but for most locations it's restricted or prohibited. I got one in my area because it's less restricted but if a vast portion of your country makes it illegal, is it worth it?
I'm sorry you Canadians don't have the freedoms we do in the United States, then again some of our states are resembling parts of your country...
Turn your camera, please. Thanks!
Just here for the gratuitous draws o’er and o’er again. Love it. Your knives hate you
Sounds good in a Wick movie but in real life, I would pass on that

A kydex sheathed fixed blade on 12inches of Para cord is the fastest deployment, period full.stop. I will meet you any place any time anytime and demonstrate with rubber training blades how quickly all of your vital areas become liquid versus style. I mean you no disrespect, however this is not as deadly as our art.

Thats why SHIVWORKS CLINCH PICK 2.O IS THE BEST TOOL FOR SELF DEFENSE.
Why is the video quality so bad and all of your most recent posts?
Everybody loses in a knife fight. Bring a gun.
Everyone wins in a gun fight?
Someone can win a gunfight unscathed. In a knife fight everybody comes out stabbed, slashed and bleeding profusely.
Loser dies in the street, winner dies in the ambulance

You are thinking way too deep into this, which is fine as you are creating content after all. Chances of anyone having to defend themselves with a pocket knife are so minimal - it almost doesn’t matter, as long as one is comfortable and familiar with their blade. In the distant times, when pocket knives were actually used for self defense - those knives were not tactical at all: 2 hand opening, weak locks or none at all. Worked fine for centuries though.
If I didn't think deeply, I wouldn't have heard from you...
