0:07 i love this i love how his poses are actual animations that you can see in mario 64 when doing certain things and the weird jumping thing while being glued to the ground (which i guess was popularized by smg4) by glitching out the game and stuff and im probably looking too much into this but 0:13 kind of looks like that one animation that would play when you are in like a cold area or something and mario breathes in his hands 0:31 mario falls into the pipe, but instead bf comes out the other side. both constantly have their worlds shifted by modifications, glitches, or other ways of changing their world. and while bf enjoys it and takes pride in it, mario is constantly being agonized and tormented by it. i love this 0:43 it goes without saying but this part is really damn cool 0:53 has to be my favorite scene out of all of the ones here. we see this version of mario platforming on his decaying world as if it was just another level for him to overcome. no matter how much of his world falls apart, and no matter how far away he shifts from his original character, its still mario, and he still has a goal to complete, to reach the end of the level and finish the game 1:12 this kind of even furthers my point that bf and mario are one of the same with how their worlds constantly change but in the end they will both find peace

It feels like somone in this copy of sm64 was trying to find secrets and he throwed the cartrige into a bin. Bf and gf found it in a bin and when they powered it on the cartrige got them in the game. Litearry that's just a theory.

every scene in this is actually insane there's so much care into all of this I can't just pick out one scene to focus on. so instead i'm just gonna rant because I'm pretty good at that. the first one with the paintings is super simple yet effective with them falling into frame in time and c64 being dragged then trying to hit poses but fazing in and out deciding to stop second one is most underrated with the personalization AI trying so hard to mimic some poses using animations in-built and hurting itself so much and nearly breaking down in the process shifting the battlefield before BF calms it back down again. the scene choice also reminds me of Better Off which is interesting. Better Off dead I suppose. third scene starting with Mario falling among the faceless stars with most of them shattering before ground pounding into a pipe only for BF to some out the other end is sick. the pipe's waviness is also appreciated. and then it just standing there, only barely moving to sing contrasted with BF's very lively movements is great. then breaking down next to the L is Real statue, before that beautiful little animation with all the drawings, all covering their soulless eyes out of shame with the statue shattering behind them. then you end the scene of with the most chilling part of this, the screen split, it sings one note towards BF then turns to face us fourth scene is great starting with it stanced up twitching before running full sprint doing every move possible including the N64 flying through a pipe, with the courtyard building behind it and the new spire for it to stand on as well. it's relatively simple but super impressive, I love how the extra spire still makes it feel off like the AI is still personalizing the world to our liking, so convenient spire it is the fifth scene as I assume is the canon ending and is great. no more movement, just levitating above the ground while everything crumbles as it dies polygon by polygon, only moving up near its end to look straight at the camera again. again relatively simple but so effective, I love how emphaisesd the 'M' falling off is and the scrapped unfinished ending is great, with c64 opening it's arms and dying the same way, then falling in defeat completely disassocaiting before it hears BF and looks up again at BF trying to talk with it while it's being torn away, before getting closer and each of them holding out their hands in a futile effort. I love the detail of c64 looking uncertain about it but does it anyways. people say it's like BF trying to save it, but personally it looks much more like BF just being there in its final moments. and even then, their hands don't even connect before they are both torn away and the floor falls out. you made it tragic with only beeps and boops as an excuse for dialogue this one video got me looking into classified like it's that good

As this was a five minute song with only two phases, Your Copy ended up being my least favorite song in V1. I wish the battle would be fully cinematic, which justifies it being as long as it is, and inherently makes it harder to play because you're looking at the visuals while still hitting the notes.
