Tap Water
The easiest and most obvious - and usually the cheapest - is to use tap water. Tap water is available to almost anyone keeping an aquarium, and is almost always going to be fine for your fish. However, you do need to be aware that if your tap water is from a municipal water supply, or if you have a holding tank for your water supply, you probably have chlorinated water, and you will need to use a dechlorinator or a chloramine remover to make the water safe for your aquarium, depending on which compound is used in your water system.

My Recommendation: Tap Water
My recommendation for any beginning aquariist would be to use tap water unless you know there is a reason to not use your tap water, such as your local municipal water supply is know to be contaminated with some toxin. In general, for a beginner, tap water will be the best choice. It should be excellent for a wide variety of fish, is readily available, is cheap, and is easy to prepare for use in your fish tank (you just need to remember to dechlorinate).

Sir, I have a question, I have a 30Lx30Hx20W tank I used tap water with anti-chlorine, for my one Rainbow shark fish and two black molly fishes, but now my molly fish has given birth to 30 baby molly's and I need to change the water frequently, so my question is can I use RO water while changing 30 percent of my aquarium's water? will it change the water parameter I am concern about the baby fishes, and if not will the use of Anti-Chlorine medicine safe for the baby Mollys. please reply. thank you.

But there are different types of fishes which require different types of water for their living, like some fishes thrive in hard water and some needs soft water. Also molly fish are the species of fish which requires hard water that is they needs highly minerals like calcium and magnesium content in their water which the RO water doesn't fulfil as it tooks away all minerals as well as impurities and pollutants from the water which is not good for molly fishes and they may get sick & die soon. Coz it affects their immune system rapidly, now plz tell me what to do sir.
