I have added the redundant connections for 5V and GND in the past. But since the bifurcated pins are no longer available, I don't deem those connections "pin-worthy" any longer. :-)
I do not. The ones that I have I purchased from GPE ages ago. Our best bet these days is to use the 3D printed connectors that accept regular edge connector pins.
