  • I'm a breast cancer survivor who had to take Red Devil and Taxol chemotherapy. This is my personal experience with dancing with the nasty Red Devil. I hope it helps someone else to know what to expect and hope to get through it.

    Glad all is well for you. My mom had stage 2 breast cancer. Had first red devil treatment October and 4 days later had a stroke. No red devil for 4 weeks and had physical therapy for approximately 4 to 5 weeks then had her second red devil treatment two days later another stroke was in the hospital for a couple weeks. The doctor decided to give her a third red devil second week of December 3 days later back in the hospital died December 29, they said cause of death was pneumonia. She was normal and getting ready to go get in her car to get her hair done for the last time October 26 had a stroke and died December 29. Red devil treatment killed her what really bothered me a week before she died the cancer doctor came in the room and said well. Looks like you’re gonna have to make a decision, but if she survives this, we will probably switch her to a pill . Why didn’t he do that or offer that before? She had three strokes and died?

    My aunt is about to go through it. She's on a harsh regiment, 24 weeks then a break, then she gets the red devil. Her husband died last year of cancer, so this is already a hard time. Your video is so helpful! I plan to get her a chemo bag thanks to your advice ❤ so glad you're doing good!

    I really appreciate this video, thank you! I am a 2 time ovarian cancer survivor. Initially & for my 1st recurrence I got Carboplatin & taxotere. I lost my hair, which I didn't care about, but sailed through chemo. I'm having my 2nd recurrence & will get Carboplatin, Doxil & aviston. I admit, I've been a bit cocky assuming I'll sail through this as well. Maybe I'll be lucky, but I am so thankful to know what to prepare for just in case. My hair is very healthy and below my shoulders, but I'm getting it cut into a pixie in the near future. I may not lose it all, but I don't need it clogging my drains. Thank you and I pray you are doing well! (This was my first video of yours).

    Hi I had the same treatment. HER2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I to did a bilateral mastectomy then chemo 1 month later for 4 treatments. Red devil as well however I refused to not go to work and did well not getting sick. I had on body Nuelasta, and that just about killed me. Did not put me into menopause but destroyed my mouth. That was horrible but been in remission for almost 5 years now. I do have long term side effects but overall I'm alive. Sending hugs!

      I barely made it through the red devil, but the Tamoxifin was easy other than I started to get numb toes and had to stop after 8 weeks.

    BC stage 3, E+, 52 year old here.
    Constipation, acid reflux where my problems. Yes, I was tired but I would sleep for 4-5 days and it wasn’t bad as I thought it will be.
    First, I think immunotherapy thing in my arm would make me feel bad. In first round I didn’t take Claritin as recommended and felt back bone pain like hell but it didn’t happen in next rounds. I learned hard way.
    Constipation-was bad(4-5days) and in second round I would drink 1liter of kefir. Helped amazingly 🙏🏻❤️
    After day 4 acid reflux 😢
    so I would prepare home made soup , eat only plums, peaches , berry.
    Day 8 after chemo I would feel like old me with good energy.
    Smoothies I eat:
    -small peace of beet
    -1/2 cup cranberry (pure juice no sugar)
    -organic apple
    -berry
    -fresh parley (1 branch)
    -ginger
    -1 small spoon honey
    -1 cup water
    Kefir did amazing for me.
    I would buy 5 liter for first week.
    Instead lemon use fresh pepper. Pepper is number 1 source of C vitamin.
    I wish you all the best!!! 🙏🏻❤️

    Thank you for doing this! We were told that there needs to be extra precautions when being around other people and extra precautions with cleaning. Could you explain your experience and how you navigated that.

    • @TeachersBrain
      @TeachersBrain  Год назад +2

      I did not do anything special for cleaning. Drs. never told me to. I was on a rollercoaster. Super sick for days, then felt fine but my white blood cells would drop to zero. I couldn’t go in public without a mask. They give you a shot to get them to raise which gives you some bone pain. Claritin helped take that pain away.

    Do you know why the doctor didn’t offer you the cold cap where you can preserve your hair during a red treatment? Doctors don’t understand the trauma of women losing their hair and now it’s currently preventable

    • @TeachersBrain
      @TeachersBrain  11 месяцев назад

      Honestly, I would have never been able to keep up with it during that treatment. I was so sick sometimes it was all I could do just to show up. I am also on Verzenio now which might cause me to lose hair too.
