Gorgeous! I've never had conch but I new of the shell, decoratively. Didn't know you could eat shellfish sashimi outside of ceviche. Incredible!!

Hey Sunny, I'm sure you hear this all the time but, since I've started watching you I've found like 5 foods that I use to hate as kid and tried again and I love it. You really motivate me to eat out of my comfort zone and find new things and I really couldn't have done it without you. I'll continue trying new things as long you do. I can never get over Vietnam’s sea food videos!!
I'm Vietnamese. Thank for your video. But I think that you can eat seafood at different places where near beach ( Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Quy Nhon), it helps you save money 1/2 of cost, because you ate at the expensive restaurant in center of Ho Chi Minh City.

@@chipnroll what does the world have to do with his experience? He's a food content creator. It's his job to go around the world experiencing rare animals that you and multiple people won't able to be experience due to the pandemic at the moment. He's basically putting his life in danger to entertain and take his viewers on his journey and educate his viewers about these facilitating creatures that most of us never heard or seen before.

We get Abalone that size regularly in Tasmania. Sliced paper thin and pan fried in butter. Absolutely delicious. Thank you for another awesome episode
We have the same in WA. They have to be a certain size before they be taken, and the catch is capped at a certain number.

As much as I love watching Kai Moana videos (and your food adventures in general) it always freaks me out when I see the fish markets in Asia. The big fish markets chew through millions of tonnes of seafood every year and are generally fed by huge fishing fleets that snake out all over the planet and take basically everything they can get without much, if any regulatory boundaries.
I think of the ongoing depletion of the oceans and of future generations who have much less chance of enjoying the wonderful fresh food that the oceans give us. These videos give me joy but also make me sad at the state of our planet.

Lot of these seafood like that giant Conch snail are not even tasty and have to be decorated and covered in sauces to make it look worth the cost, yet it takes many years for that animal to grow. Absolute waste of life.
One this is not true two there’s plenty of fish in the god damn sea.

So what do you normally do with the leftovers? A lot of the stuff you try most definitely needs to be eaten fresh off the plate. I’v wondered this for some time now. I’m born and raised Montanan, so I know all about leftovers!

It cracks me up that Sonny will eat pretty much anything but he won’t eat a cucumber!! WTH?? Dude??!! I’d eat a cucumber over and over before I’d eat most of the stuff you eat. Raw stuff, stuff with fur on it, no seasoning, half cooked, there’s just no way. Stomach bile??!! No way!! But whatever. A cucumber you find gross. It’s just totally and absolutely weird to me.

@@ruthlessjun8835 No, he’s not friend. If you watch more videos you’d know this. He doesn’t like a green cucumber that grows in your garden. I’ve seen him eat a sea cucumber before. And I’ve seen him pick out of his food a green, from the garden cucumber. That’s why I just find it absolutely absurd that he eats everything else and that he finds a garden cucumber gross. Go figure.

$137 for a conch is crazy to me. I would love to try it, but it better be far more superior than lobster for that price. Weighing it with the shell seems like the house is stacking the deck. I'm not sure if conch are all generally the same, but I would think that the shell to meat ratio could fluctuate.
They are rubbery and dont have lots of flavor. Some people like conch as drinking food. Imho lobsters are way better. And yeah, that conch is hella expensive for 80% weight as shell
