Optimus Prime was that hero and role model. He was everything a true leader and selfless mentor a character should be. When he takes on Megatron in an epic one on one battle to the death he does not cower or run away, instead he held his ground and fought defeating Megatron even if it cost him his life. That is what true heroes and role models do! I will never forget that moment.

I heard that the original plan for this song was to be part of the Cobra movie soundtrack, the one with Sylvester Stallone, and a change of plan led it to be part of the Transformers movie.

40 years ago, I used to beg my mom to take me to the mall just so I can look at the G1 Transformers toys. I would always ask if I could have one, and she told me no, that they were too expensive. Then one day, my mom and brother said they were leaving to the "store". I asked if I could go, but was told to stay home and finish my homework. When they came back, my brother surprised me and showed me a package containing the duel cassettes of Frenzy and Ravage! I got so excited, and my bro asked me which one I wanted. I chose Frenzy and he kept Ravage. My brother's next words were, "Don't break it." Of course, I said I won't. Man I was all giddy. A little later the same day, my mom said that she had to go to the actual store and I asked if I wanted to go. I said no because I was too interested in my new Transformers toy and her and my brother left again. While they were gone, I mishandled Frenzy and broke the leg joint, and there was nothing I could do to fix it. I couldn't even begin to tell you how sad and disheartened I got. When I heard the car pull in, I put Frenzy away with a piece of tape to secure it in its alternate mode and hoped they wouldn't ask about it. When I wasn't playing with it, my brother became suspicious and asked about it. I just said I didn't feel like playing with it, and he found it and immediately noticed. He got so pissed at me, but I know he also saw how bad I felt. I wanted to cry, but held it in as best as I could. The next day after we had dinner and I was getting ready for bed. He came into my room and said, "Here. Try not to break this one. Don't worry, I won't tell mom." He gave me his Ravage. You have no idea how much I love my bro. Happy 40th Anniversary Transformers!
The original Transformers movie was rated PG for Spike saying fuck and there was a shit somewhere in there , at 10 was able to get into the theater and see it but when I bought it in the 90's on DVD it's totally edited out. Who's decision was that?
I still hate and always will the pistol version of Megatron, just doesn't fit well with the toy line or cartoon. They tried to clean it up by saying shockwave was a cannon, but a gun is a gun.
