Kohl’s closing? That’s a rare sight! Great video! First to document.
I’m guessing this only closed because of the decline of the Golf Mills Mall. The rest of the Kohl’s stores are still open.
Was there 2 years ago with my girlfriend. Unfortunately she passed away last October
Can't wait for the inevitable JC Penney Golf Mill closing video next year
Golf Mill has seriously gotten very bad since 2018 my goodness
Or the inevitable Golf Mill closing as a whole
@@ssh_disney I don't think Golf Mill as a whole will permanently close, but I do think it's inevitably gonna get redeveloped
The old one (1960-2020) I meant. When the old one closes a new redeveloped one will come!
@@ssh_disney Ahhh
Everyone kept talking what if Sears closes.i believe it’s best to bring it outdoors again.i get it .at one time it was good to have a food court inside of your mall and enclose it.but some shopping areas were never meant to be enclosed.golf mill was one of them.it seemed to lose its charm as time prevailed.change is necessary now.your mall occupancy not counting whatever is left in anchors and food court is less than 30%.let’s hope for golf mill.i believe it’s important for the community going forward.
It’s actually moving to a new development on Waukegan and Dempster st in Morton Grove.however Golf Mill Mall will never be the same.only Target AMC showplace ,Value City Furniure,Ross ,Ulta, and JCPenney now.with maybe around 20 stores in the concourse.with 5 restaurants in the food court.becoming a ghost town too quickly.
It’s still a shame to see Kohl’s leave Golf Mill
I mentioned that.
Ross is most likely moving too
I just hysterically laugh at stores that still have "We're hiring!" signs even though they're closing.
It makes sense here since they're just moving. Not outright closing.
They need staff for the closing sales.
@@LostDepartments doesn’t that mean the video title is technically incorrect?
@@primusvsunicron1 I mean this store still closed.
@@LostDepartments I’m probably confusing myself then
How sad. I grew up in Niles. Took the "free bus" to golf mill. And actually worked at this Mainstreet when they first opened in 1985.
I lived on the northwest side of Chicago. My mom and I would come here often. It’s just sad to see what has happened to the retail industry, and to the malls. The problem is that companies today are having a really tough time keeping up with a giant company called Amazon. Amazon is practically taking over the world , and it’s hurting the retail industry.
I went there after they closed and saw them removing the sign, that's something I rarely seen.
If Kohl’s leaves a mall you know the mall is screwed
Wow!!! I had no idea they were closing. This was one of my favorite Kohl's to shop at. How sad.
Yeah, this mall is bad anyway, I don’t plan on visiting it anymore. I remember when the st Charles Kohl’s was closing, wish there was a video of it.
That one was VINTAGE
Lost Departments Yeah, I liked that one. We never went there though because of how the mall was.
I wonder if it was because the rent was too high to justify keeping the store. Because it seemed like the perfect location for a Kohl's.
I work at Kohl’s and it sucks this one looks very different from the one I work at
Can you video 📹 tape the new Kohls store?
I love Kohl's more than MainStreet
Awesome video. I have not really seen any Kohl’s stores closing before, so this was the first to see Liquidation sale wise
This is my second and both were odd.
Lost Departments: this definitely is going to hurt this mall. At least that’s my speculation, but who knows. Maybe the new plans will keep the mall on its feet
I had a feeling this used to be a MainStreet. Nice video!
Thank You!!!
I used to come to this Kohl’s whenever my mom and I went to Golf Mill. Just unbelievable what is happening to this mall.
Great job on video! Two outside is so like ugly! Remind me of other old store that I can't think of right now. Think it was Stearns department store or caldor store! Also inside if it wasn't fixture of Kohls it would of been another Stearns 80 looks too. My Kohls have two doors and they use both at the movement mainly auto doors.
The outside of that store is one ugly beast of a building but inside it was well maintained. When I am in the US I don't see many Kohl's stores but the few I have been in do seem to have nicer fittings than a lot of the other dept stores.
It’s time to tear down Golf Mill and start over from scratch.

can you do a updated golf mill mall tour? i haven’t gone in a year i hope it’s gotten better :(
I mightve filmed that too...
Unforetunately the mall has not gotten better. Recently they took Subway out and opened a bunch of stores that no one heard of.
Nice vid
Thank You!!!
