I absolutely love that ASUS is doing product teardowns! No other company is doing this! This is the type of stuff that will really set the brand apart from others. We have entered the Maker/diy era- people aren't afraid to take things apart anymore, to try repairs themselves. Awesome stuff!

Great video. Its great to know Asus are looking after the peeps who buy there products by being able to replace certain parts. Instead of waiting for there hardware to breakdown, and slinging it onto the landfill dump. If more companys invested on being able to replace parts and the customer knowing its going to last, with the exception of certain parts burning out and knowing they will be able to replace them. The people will invest in hardware thats got a good reputation. Thats why I have just bought a Honda motor and just splashed out on this Chromebook, after watching this review. Great tutorial, very clear and informative. Thankyou very much.

No way to swap out the RAM? I ordered one of these and was hoping to upgrade to 8GB. It's not a deal-breaker for me, I just like options.

Asus has soldered pretty much everything to the motherboard. Cpu, Ram, MMC memory, display wires, you get the point

@@rainonedavid3564 Which is annoying and I wish laptop manufacturers would quit doing it. That said three years later and I'm writing this comment on that same exact laptop and it's been a really good one.

Why would you design a device thats easy to "mantain" when there is in fact nothing to "mantain"? No Drive change, (some chromebooks use SATA M.2 drives) no ram change (soldered), and CPU is fanless, no dust to clean, so why so much fuss...
