This Taiwanese song was sung in Mandarin which was still a challenge for the guys in Hong Kong. It may be easier and closer to the original if DCS can sing this song in Cantonese.
Thank you for your comment. We chose this beautiful piece precisely because of our deep respect for Taiwanese choral music and would like to share this piece with our audience. As mentioned above in our comment, this is a temporary translation as it is difficult for non-Taiwanese speakers to learn the piece individually and sing in unison. However we feel this piece greatly speaks to our society wrought by the pandemic. As such, we sought the permission of the composer, the poet and Formosa Singers to record a temporary Mandarin version, and that we will perform the piece live in Taiwanese once the pandemic subsides. As many foreign language pieces have been translated throughout the history of choral music, we believe this temporary solution can convey the message of the music respectfully. We hope you will stay tuned to our RUclips channel for our performance in original Taiwanese, and we thank you once again for your interest in our work.

先前曾經在東京特地去聽過各位現場的演出真的很喜歡～
只是這首曲子畢竟原詞是依照閩南語的語韻與邏輯去寫的，有很多很美的東西還是會在直譯的過程消失，例如押韻，還有一些特有的用詞及發音....等等，覺得有點可惜(?)。很期待未來有機會可以聽到各位唱到原本的語言，一定會更加感人！
