Heya, thank you for posting this super helpful video, we are heading here on Thursday and this has risen the excitement levels. Wondered if you would be able to tell me if the hotel offers pool towels, we only have cabin luggage and wondered if we needed to take towels. No worries if you don’t know bab x

Thank you for your kind comment and question, I hope you have a brilliant holiday. The short answer is that I don't know, there definitely wasn't any in the room, however I suspect (and it is only a suspicion) that they would be available.
Sorry I can't be of any more help, but it is something worth noting for future trips and reviews, so thank you
      Phil 😊

Loving your content. My partner and me have been thinking about Marrakech for a couple of years, but haven't made it there yet.

Thanks for your kind comment, it is a lovely place for a lounger break or city break and you can combine the two in the resort hotels on the outskirts.

We used to to Marrakech every year for a week around May time ( until last year ), and always stayed at the Four Seasons - it's wonderful. However last year we went to Cape Town, staying at the Taj for a week, and £ for £ it was much better value. So now it looks like it's CP every Nov for a week instead.

Thank you for the comment and the tip, Cape Town is on my list.

Great video but you mentioned quite a bit it was chilli. I planned to go in November but having second thoughts now since it may be cold. What was the highest temperature when you went?
    Also, was there a beach?

Thanks for your comment and question. The weather I experienced reminded me of bright clear late spring days. So a bit of a nip in the morning (probably teens) then low 20s when the sun comes up. There were people sunbathing and swimming once the sun was up but don't expect those baking hot days in the 30s.

Hi Richard, thank you for your question.
I did book the hotel through BA but I booked the flight and hotel separately, I was taking advantage of an offer BA had on at the time giving Avios double their usual value in cash and avios bookings. It was only for three nights so no double tier points. I knew that I didn't need the points to get Gold as I had a trip to Australia earning 150 points booked in.
It was incredibly cheap, under £70 per night for the hotel. The flight cost was £200 plus 5000 avios (and I earned over 5000 avios from the trip).
I believe that Iberostar have an arrangement with IHG now and their prices have increased, I looked on Booking.com and their room rates are over £100 per night, which is still good value, but more than I paid.
Thank you for your support, Richard, it is much appreciated
      Phil

They never have clubs or golf balls or was it just at the time you asked him?

    • @mygreygapyear

Thank you for your question, the staff member said that the golf facilities were there for the organised golf lessons and not for the guests general use and that was why he didn't have any golf equipment to lend. If you brought your own putter and balls I don't know how they would stop you using the putting green.

What's the entertainment like there x

    • @mygreygapyear
      @mygreygapyear  8 месяцев назад +1

Thanks for your question, I'm probably not the best person to ask about entertainment as the World Cup was on so I sat in the bar watching football. The one event I was going to attend was the managers champagne reception, but that was the night of the Brazil match,
      Sorry I can't really help,
      Phil

Maybe when you are in the enter of the hotel you will be like wooow what’s a hotel but when you go to your room then it’s the shock as we paid 2200 pound for our stay to get a reeeaaaly basic room separate beds me and my husband we couldn’t even hug each other as we used to do while we sleep the room has no carpets the floor is reaaaally cold 🥶 the water not getting hot. And the food its another disaster has no test at all I can’t sleep I regret coming here. Plus when you arrive they will charge you extra for the VAT

Thanks for your comment, £2,200 is a lot for that hotel unless you stayed two weeks in the school holidays, I think I paid about £70 per night.
I agree on the beds situation, I find it all over the world where a "double" room has "twin" beds and I'm not a fan. But I thought the food was varied, tasty and of good quality with chefs who cared about the food they produced. The room was standard three star fare and I would imagine that that a tiled floor is fairly common in the worlds hotter countries.
I want to be clear in this one point though, I was charged a small tourist tax upon checking in and this is a standard charge across Morocco, I WAS NOT charged a Value Added Tax in addition to my hotel cost.
Thank you for your comment, varied feedback is always appreciated,
      Phil
