- Crashing, jousting with trees, overheating, and being plain stupid. Subjected my poor NX to a sketchy black diamond trail with a couple guys on built KTM's after we had already rode from Highland to Big Bear on trails. This trail is White Mountain (3N17) in the San Bernardino National Forest, and it is a motherfucker. Not for the faint of heart...
Great video dude! That was some gnarly terrain. Stoked to see what the bike is capable of!
I live on an island in the Gulf of Thailand and recently bought the Japanese, modified version of the NX250; the AX1. I'm slowly getting her back to her former glory but at the moment there is something new giving up every week that I need to fix.
Can't wait to get back into full fighting condition and attack some of the trails and wild country we have here.
Great video? Camera was back and forth so much I got dizzy in the beginning!
Bought an nx 250 and all I had to do was tweak the idle screw and runs fine now. Got it as a starter and it’s love at first sight! Very very happy with my buy💯
Damn, that bike only has about 7” of travel! Good job. Good clutch too,!
Yeah I think 8.7" front and 7.9" rear.
Un grand BRAVO Guy, un 250 4t is tout à fond !!! Like a remember You ! So I am French...
I just picked up a NX 250. For the price of a carburetor rebuild. Glad to see it can hit the typical Arizona trails.
where in AZ are you?
Can anyone tell me what California required for a motorcycle licence in 1988/ Google is no help. Thanks.
What tires were you running then? Excellent line choices, btw. You did good, man.
Looks like some of the trails down here in Southern AZ. Very rocky with some nice single tracks in between. Mostly rocky though.
I just recently did a road like that here in AZ on my NX. It was slow and brutal. Ended up turning around at a spot you could hardly walk up, climbed 40ft in 20ft distance. 7 miles in with 8 yet to go.
Ohh my god... That's freaking crazy... And now I want a dirt bike. Awesome vid!
I have an NX250 that I used to use for my MSF school. I was thinking of building it up for DS riding instead of buying another bike. What suspension mods have you done. I live an hour from there and have played on some of those trails in my jeep.
I swapped the rear shock for a second gen sv650 one, added 20wt fork oil, an inch of pre-load, and a washer with a smaller ID to the forks, and swaped the wheels for a 17" xl600 rear and a 21" xr250 front.
Good riding!
That is some steep stuff at the end. I would need to use my low range on my CT110 for that. Done it before on something similar, but man it's hard to maintain the right balance. I found it's actually nice to have some weight on the rear to keep the rear wheel traction high. I've actually been able to climb steeper stuff with a 90 lb. woman on the back of my CT110 than I could by myself!
def. looks more like work than fun, on any motorcycle, not just the nx. I def hope to be able to get an nx 250 her in the near future. anyway, you got more stamina than I, cheers man.
Don't know way the nx series, did not make a 350 in this type bike , the 650 would be ok for this , but the 350 with the right rear gear would be better.
First price crossing the ridge, free clutch replacement!
That looks awesome, I would love to ride that trail! But I think I would ride my XR250R. The XR climbs like a mountain goat on stuff like that and it's so much fun! I have a DR650 too, but there is no way in hell that I would try it on that climb!
This was intense. Defentely not for the faint of heart. Where is this? Looks just way brutal and I can tell from the engine that it was quite a steep climb.
It's in the Northern part of the SBNF, near Big Pine Flat.
Im buying one today in mint condition for 500!
Je suppose que Tu as pu monté, without caméra cette Hill climb comme un grand chevalier, with notre fier et fidèle monture...But 350 DR is un peu mieux, Bises Bye. Dans tous les cas BRAVO !!!
have been on rides with other riders who have 400's and 500's.sometimes I'll feel like the guy on the small bike holding up the crew. i don't care. always fun on the trails...
That was a good hill climb you need a full out dirt bike and I think you would of got to the top great video
the video didn't translate well to convey the danger of the terrain it mostly looked like you were being a wimp. good vid tho
