Yeah, coming back to the game, armor just doesn't feel as reliable to fight off with and somewhat weirdly in a measure, it also feels like you're not getting the money out of your gold rounds sometimes due to super-agresively shaped turrets or magical-pixie-dust hulls with dings you shouldn't ding. E75 was my first true love, and one I still play a lot. Back when I started, it wasn't even in the game yet. The German heavy tank line (there was only one) went Tiger -> Tiger II -> VK4502B -> Maus So I played the Tiger II a lot, and really enjoyed it. Unlocked and bought the VK, played a handful of games and realized I absolutely hated it, and then stuck my crew back in the Tiger II. A month or so later, the E75 and E100 were released, and the Tiger II finally had a worthy successor!
first tank i fell in love with was the first tank i set my sights on when i got the game, the little legend that is the T-34. It was the only tank i wanted to get when i started out. Mine now has 3 marks on the barrel and hundreds of games under it's belt, and will always have a place in both my garage and my gamer heart.
funny, there's a tank in my service record it says i've played 400 times and I'm sure I've never played it once... turns out it was the old T18 and they renamed/replaced it. That's doesn't really make sense because the T18 was OP as hell.
First tank I fell in love with was the Sherman’s had my first pools metal With the derp I always enjoyed history n it will stay in my garage till time comes
M46 Patton has been my favourite tank since 2016 and always will be, it was either my first or second tier 9 and i still play it a bunch to this day. It's a classic tank that has been in the game for ages, and is still incredibly fun to play and reasonably competitive
It was IS-3 as I went for IS-7 tech tree and this tank was just so good that when I played tier IX or X against IS-3 that I would be afraid trading with a lower tier tank
The Black Prince was my goal back in 2013, learning how to sidescrape against everything, learning about different tanks weakspots and carrying only AP/HE rounds. Being the underdog in every single game, hellish but damn good times
I loved the Type 59. It was my first “big” premium tank. It was also that amazing time when the meta was very much geared towards medium tank wolf packs ripping up the battlefield. It was late college nights with good friends and clan mates. My whole friend group started playing by the middle of 2012, and a few of us still platoon up and run the type 59 just to reminisce and talk about all the stuff we got into together back when our joints didn’t hurt, and we would cut class to hangout in the dorm and grind our tanks together. 😂
I recall an article about maybe beta or early release in gaming magazine, the game was just tanks on completely naked hills. Wrecks with no physics were interesting, sometimes people sacrificed themselves and park perpendicular in narrow passages so after death they will block enemies from crossing.
My first T8 was the 13 90, albeit not as old player as quicky, I remember what a pleasure it was to play back then, with a majority of tech tree tank in the game
The tank that holds a special place in my heart is the T1 American tier 5 heavy tank. Back in 2016 I had just finished grinding up to my very first heavy tank and I loved it being top tier, 2 shoting tier 3 medium tanks, man such a good time
I remember years back i got my kv1 for the first time and was able to manage to carry so easily. So many 10kills, tons of blocked dmg because armor did matter.. good memories, frankly i never minded the matching system back then, only thing i hated were spgs xD
honestly, the tank i still love to this day, is the Type 59. got it when it was originally on sale, and still play it regularly to this day! sure it's been buffed once or twice, and it's nothing super special any more, but it's still one of the original premium tanks
I still remember my first tier 8 tank, the t28 prototype. There was just something about it when I was 12 years old back in 2013 that caught my eye. Man, I miss those days.
The IS-3 is the most equilibrate tank in the game and it's my favorite tank, I've seen one rolling in reality and I've made an Ace Tanker with it in a tier 10 MM two weeks ago. So happy to talk about this ordinary gem of the game, that's a paradox I know. And my first love in the game was the only real StuG III (the G nowadays), the lone one before they added the B version or the IV reward. Fast, tiny, great rate of fire, a real solid vehicle (not like his motor), it was like a E25 at tier 5 before the E25 existence with the same problem of low number of ammunition. Special mention to the JPanther, the first tank who gives me a Radley-Walters medal.
For a moment I thought (hoped) WG was introducing a “Old School” mode. sigh I haven’t played in 41 days and have no idea when I will again. But roll the game back a year or so and I’m back.
They had an event for April Fool's a year or two ago where you could download and play the 0.7.0 version of the game and as a reward you got the Doge camo
The thing is that while the game has changed, so have we. Nothing will ever be the same again, which when you think about it is like the most obvious statement to ever exist.
Thanks QB for another entertaining video. Eight years ago I joined WOT and immediately spent everything to get the Tiger, like most people. Soon after a player schooled me how much I was over my head in that tank. I fell back 3 tiers and focused on improving my skills. A couple of years later I was ready for my first tier VIII and it seemed so bold then. Russian was the obvious choice, so the IS3 graced my garage. It has never disappointed and it has a great history. MontanaJack.
VK 30.01 D is still special to me. As a noob and free-to-play player back in 2013, it took me ages to grind through Pz 3/4, yolo-ing like crazy, to finally reach my first T6 tank.
I have been playing World of Tanks for 7 years in total ( 6 years for WoT Blitz) and the game has changed a lot since i first started playing the game which was in 2013 when i started playing and played most of the time with my father because he already was playing and had a teir 6 at the time when I started and I can thank this game for some great memories that I had with my father but now I played it time to time and my father stopped playing WoT in 2019 and the reason why he stopped because the players gotten better at the game and the fun that he was use to since he is a causal player, was not there anymore which i can understand that now after playing the game for so long
Same thing happened to me my father played in the BETA of wot and when I started he was way ahead and I played with him so much but he stopped as the game was just too fast for him
@@danielkorladis7869 We had that at some point but they made a mess of it and gave pretty much no rewards for playing it so you were in the negative for ammo and repair costs. No surprise it fizzled out and was removed with WG saying 'see ? It doesn't work nobody plays it'

XD ill never forget, how jealous i was for him.. At the same time, when i got my old kv1s with the 122 mm at tier6, obliterating half of the enemy team with two shot.. good memories im telling you! :D
When i was 11 I just started playing World of Tanks an I loved it so we went to a museum from WW2 there was i a working IS3 and I may go into it now 4 jears later my IS3 is still my most played tank and i will never forget that moment
6ys ago Ferdi was my friend i drove her everyware hardly missed shots i loved her ,now she only sitting in garage as momento of how fun wot in the old days.
The first tank I fell in love with as a tomato was the old school Caernarvon. Yes, that tank. I got the Matilda and liked it so much that I went up the British heavy line (bad idea for new players!!) Up until I got to the Caernarvon my experiance with WOT was slow Churchills with low pen and bad alpha. They had nice DPM but they didn't have the speed to use it. Also they didn't really go hull down. Being able to go at 35 km/hr felt like a race car after the 20 km/hr on the Churchills. The Caernarvon was my first experience with hull down gameplay. The alpha was still bad but I felt like my armor was actually better on the Caern than on the Black Prince because I could actually wedge up upper plate into the air and get pretty strong. That feeling of finally being done with the churchills was a relief. It wasn't until later that I realized it was the worst tank at tier 8 but I didn't care. The Caernarvon was eventually the first and only tank I ever 3 marked. What a ride.
My favourite tank since 2012, and it still is: Jagdpanther. Its 10.5cm gun is so awesome, though the tank nowadays struggles a little bit with all those fast light tanks/wheeled vehicles running circles around it. But it's still the tank with my highest WR at 59% (99.9 % solo).
I much prefer the older game because the maps seemed so much bigger. View range and vehicle speed were half what we have now. The old play style was slower, more tactical and so much more fun.
I remember getting almost 7k damage in this tank like 7 years ago or more and that time it was very huge damage count and the game is not filled with op tier 8 premium tanks. The game only had like T34, Super pershing, IS-6.
I remember when I got my first tier IV tank, the A-20, and was matched against Löwe, IS-3 and Tiger II. I was perplexed. "How am I supposed to do anything against those?" That's when I learned about scout matchmaking.
For me, i really miss the old ELC AMX bis and overall most scouts, which nowadays are slower and dumbed down for the drop in tier. But i miss outplaying larger opponents... It was very fulfilling. Old German tier 6 scout with a derp running circles around a T95... THAT was fun.
For me, the t110e5 is the only one that always hold a special place in my heart since it is the only tank that im able to role out with 10k damage dealt , twice at it as well.
The old days... finally grinding up to the Leopard 1, getting only one shot off as a platoon of IS3's roll down the flank wreaking everything in their path. :)
I remember unlocking the 120 mm L1A1 on the Conqueror. It was brilliant at that time. Now, it is just another one in the crowd. That was back in 2013. Man, it was and enjoyable time to play…
KV-4 is one that holds a special place for me, as well as the Matilda IV on the Russian tree. IS-4 is another one as it was my first tier 10. But the T34 Heavy, and the SU-122-44 are my most played tanks, each with over 2.5k battles.
Ferdinand. My first tank to fight IS3 and Type59 back in the days . Tiger II is my second favorite memory tank 10 years back. # place is for MArder in the old tier and setup.
Mid 2014 is when WoT was at its peak IMO. Game balance was on points (the 'Russian bias' back then seemed like child play lol), the MM was pretty good, maps were fun to play and games actually last longer than 4 minutes.
Where to start. Old days i liked KV-1, when u angled 45 degress and nobody knew where to penetrate it. Then followed tier 6 heavy - KV-1S with that high penetration and high alpha damage of 390, was absolutely shredding in same tier games. Then i recall nation vs nation, where 15 IS vs 15 Tigers matches - was really nice. Much credits still goes to T28 and T95, armor then really worked well. All in all, soviet tanks used to be first to pick up for new players, as they were strong in most departments, except aim time and accuracy, but we used to have time to aim shots. I am not lots of battle player, but i still have my is-3 which was never sold once from when i started this game :)
For me, the Hellcat. It was a turreted tank destroyer, decent camo before you had superscouts, and while it had a lot of downsides, reverse speed and turret traverse being some of them, it did enough right and was just fun to throw around enough that it ended in my 500+battle tank list. My other 500+battle tank is the IS-6, another oldschool staple, just because of how often it would throw you toptier and generally how amazingly well it could do if you knew how to use its armor. It had some terrible stats, like how before the center-weighted accuracy patch hit it was a complete sh*tshow whether you hit or not, even fully aimed, but forcing it into a brawler, where a max dispersion you're still hitting the entire front wheel of a tank, did it a lot of good and made it fun to play. Instead of semi-sniping shots.

Back when I started, it wasn't even in the game yet. The German heavy tank line (there was only one) went Tiger -> Tiger II -> VK4502B -> Maus
So I played the Tiger II a lot, and really enjoyed it.
I'm still very new to the game, but I've definitely fallen in love with the IS. That alpha is so much fun.
Nostalgia is always good. I completely understand where QB is coming from.
I would skip school and come home to play WOT back in the days. Now it’s nothing close to the old days but I hope they release the WOT classic mode. 🥺
I honestly don't see why they would do this. They'd split their playerbase and the ability to monitize them would be worse in a true classic mode.
I miss when a new player could get a T14 at tier 2 and derp other new players
You mean T18
@@TheHunterino yes that's right! sorry
@@TheHunterino I remember think that this tank was the most broken aspect of WoT, a op t2 tank....
@@jojojotype5563 I used to love taking mine out whenever new tier 2 premiums were given for free
funny, there's a tank in my service record it says i've played 400 times and I'm sure I've never played it once... turns out it was the old T18 and they renamed/replaced it.
I recently got this and playing since 2012, I can say it's arguably the best tank in the game (for it's tier)
It was IS-3 as I went for IS-7 tech tree and this tank was just so good that when I played tier IX or X against IS-3 that I would be afraid trading with a lower tier tank
Same here. I remember when IS-3 had better armor than IS-8 before WG did rebalance of it.
We can hopefully re-live those good old days on the next WoT Classic server
The first tank I fell in love with was the Matilda, and then the Cromwell.
Centurion 7/1, first tank I ever saw, loved the way it looked and the mid-barrel break just made it look fantastic to me
The Black Prince was my goal back in 2013, learning how to sidescrape against everything, learning about different tanks weakspots and carrying only AP/HE rounds.
E 75 was my first true love and luckily unlike a lot of the other older tech tree tanks it still holds up.
I recall an article about maybe beta or early release in gaming magazine, the game was just tanks on completely naked hills. Wrecks with no physics were interesting, sometimes people sacrificed themselves and park perpendicular in narrow passages so after death they will block enemies from crossing.
You can love or hate QB, but there is no one like him among CC. He has a gift for storytelling and can portrait this game like nobody else.
IS-3, my longest and proudest grind. a ture legend of a vehicle. i love reverse sidecraping in this beast...
My first T8 was the 13 90, albeit not as old player as quicky, I remember what a pleasure it was to play back then, with a majority of tech tree tank in the game
8:24 KV-2 does not care. It can fight tier 10s and still emerge victorious 🤣🤣
Not missing particular tank, but the maps
For a moment I thought (hoped) WG was introducing a “Old School” mode. sigh
I haven’t played in 41 days and have no idea when I will again.
I just tried to come back and play, did 3-4 rounds one night about a week ago, and have not been back on since. I don't like the way it feels now.
Both places I’ve been to and wot have kept me in history for pretty much my entire life.
VK 30.01 D is still special to me. As a noob and free-to-play player back in 2013, it took me ages to grind through Pz 3/4, yolo-ing like crazy, to finally reach my first T6 tank.
I have been playing World of Tanks for 7 years in total ( 6 years for WoT Blitz) and the game has changed a lot since i first started playing the game which was in 2013 when i started playing and played most of the time with my father because he already was playing and had a teir 6 at the time when I started and I can thank this game for some great memories that I had with my father but now I played it time to time and my father stopped playing WoT in 2019 and the reason why he stopped because the players gotten better at the game and the fun that he was use to since he is a causal player, was not there anymore which i can understand that now after playing the game for so long
Same thing happened to me my father played in the BETA of wot and when I started he was way ahead and I played with him so much but he stopped as the game was just too fast for him
T29 was and will always be my favorite tank of all time
I'd like to go back to before cancer on wheels and before the bobject in it's op form.
back then pwas probably best - a lot better than now for sure.
Old HE
could be cool to have like, a historical mode where you can only play vehicles that actually existed
@@danielkorladis7869 We had that at some point but they made a mess of it and gave pretty much no rewards for playing it so you were in the negative for ammo and repair costs. No surprise it fizzled out and was removed with WG saying 'see ? It doesn't work nobody plays it'
so around 9.15 ish
Remember playing with my panzer 38t (an old tier4 german med) against a tiger II, shooting its pooper, doing no dmg at all, tring everything i could ap, he, repositioning, but the guy just siply ignored me, whilst dealing with the real threat against him.. boy it war glorious and awful at the same time.. XD ill never forget, how jealous i was for him.. At the same time, when i got my old kv1s with the 122 mm at tier6, obliterating half of the enemy team with two shot.. good memories im telling you! :D
I remember myself with tier 4 covenanter fighting against IS-8
I still kinda miss the Historic mode, I think it was pretty fun and with some changes they could bring it back today now
To be honest, I really like when you digress and share some of your stories
I loved playing the King Tiger back in the day!!!
When i was 11 I just started playing World of Tanks an I loved it so we went to a museum from WW2 there was i a working IS3 and I may go into it now 4 jears later my IS3 is still my most played tank and i will never forget that moment
Mine was tiger 2. Used to play it all the time when i got it. I also have the most games in it and i loved it back in the days
the is-3 was my first real heavy tank and will always hold a special place in my heart
6ys ago Ferdi was my friend i drove her everyware hardly missed shots i loved her ,now she only sitting in garage as momento of how fun wot in the old days.
The T95 was the first tank I wanted bad enough to grind for. It's still one of the most badass looking tanks in the game!
This tank used to be a benchmark t8 heavy, probably the most versatile one.
It shows how much power creep there is.
What a ride.
did you play ChurchGC? omg that was pain... however, the conq, and sconq really makes up for the grind.
@@germmanator yeah. I played it back when it had 230 alpha to get to the fv 183 faster. That tank was miserable. At least today it has a descent gun.
That salute must have blessed him
with field modifications is3 became a sniper/heavy tank and i love it. i loved it before and i still love it now. it will always be my first t8 ❤️
One of my beloved tanks that I rebought after grinding the line to tier 10... The one and only derp king, the mighty KV-2
Hey QB, here in Vancouver BC stands a tank in the city park. It is indeed bone chilling to stand beside a tank for the first time.
I miss the Waffentrager auf E-100..6 shots of pain , and rivers of tears was the norm back in the day of old school WoT..
I remember when I got my first tier IV tank, the A-20, and was matched against Löwe, IS-3 and Tiger II. I was perplexed. "How am I supposed to do anything against those?" That's when I learned about scout matchmaking.
The Jackson American td. First tank where I found my footing in play style and really had some great game memories
IS-3 is very much so my fav tank in the game, also the first tier 8 I 3 marked in like 75 games, such a beauty.
My first love was the T1 heavy, 8 years ago, damn good times.
I remember unlocking the 120 mm L1A1 on the Conqueror. It was brilliant at that time. Now, it is just another one in the crowd. That was back in 2013. Man, it was and enjoyable time to play…
Everytime QB says I digress, finish your drink.
KV-4 is one that holds a special place for me, as well as the Matilda IV on the Russian tree. IS-4 is another one as it was my first tier 10. But the T34 Heavy, and the SU-122-44 are my most played tanks, each with over 2.5k battles.
KV-2 will always have my heart. I’ve 3 marked the beauty
Ferdinand. My first tank to fight IS3 and Type59 back in the days . Tiger II is my second favorite memory tank 10 years back. # place is for MArder in the old tier and setup.
I loved playing my M46/47 Patton back in the day before it got its pen buffed from 208 to what it is now
T150 my favorite tier 6 made me love tanks even more
Mid 2014 is when WoT was at its peak IMO.
