my captions were hidden behind a Broll layer, and i couldnt find out for the love of God how to fix this. Solution: go to the scene tab, then to layers, and drag the broll down. Thanks
Hi. Do audio files work in layers in the same way as video files? So if my script is a video, but I want to have music over certain sections (and for those to fade in and out), would I create a layer as in this tutorial?
Hi Joey, super helpful tutorial. I have a question about how to merge layers. I recorded from my microphone direct in Descript and then brought in a video. I managed to sync them but when I remove the dead sound part it seems to only remove it from the script layer (audio) and not the video (has audio detached but muted). How do I merge the audio recording with the video so I can edit the composition? Thanks!
Can I add a Presentation from Canva as a layer in the video? I have filmed the instruction video seperate from the presentation, and would now like to bring them together ☺️

Ngl, I love descript to finish videos, but as a timeline editor it's far less competent than free options. I would accept just average, but the timeline is so wonky it actually takes LONGER than free options to use it
Yeah I wouldn't use it for heavy duty timeline work. It really shines with spoken word videos where you can do the bulk of the editing in the text editor and just use the timeline for fine tuning

You can paste or display a url but you can’t hyperlink it, it’s a video
