So the frustration of a "Dev" lead to the birth of DevOps, and then the idea was hijacked by "Ops" team. Now we have sysadmin re-branded as DevOps engineer. I liked how you explained the history and the current issue with DevOps resources industry is facing. 👍
jazakAllah, love from Pakistan brother. I have been learning and honing the skill for three years now. read many books on the topic, have nearly 40 course trainings. you just nailed it, simplified it and encapsulated an ocean in a drop. barakAllah.
Thank you for sharing your insights. About six months ago, I started transitioning into cloud computing from a software Engineering background. And my goal is to become a "DevOps" Engineer. In your opinion, do you think it is a better idea for me to market myself as a Cloud Engineer or DevOps Engineer? Because after watching your video, I realized I'm basically a Cloud Engineer, and there's nothing stopping me from implementing the well known DevOps practices as a Cloud Eng. I'll be glad to hear your thoughts on this.
At the end of the day, irrespective of my opinion, you want to choose a title that the industry recognises. There's a lot of overlap between Cloud engineering and DevOps so either is fine. Obviously there are nuances that differ per market, so choose what's popular in your region or the region you plan to work in, in the future

You're a Cloud Engineer,
Love it!!!!!!!!!
couldn't agree more. It is a snake oil. everyone uses the same jargon but heck no one can clearly define what the hell DevOps is.
