Hi there, thanks for this video! Im curious about an issue I have with this model transmission a245e, having a problem where the axle meets the transmission audibly supposing a loose vibration noise. Is it possible for the differential to become loose and make only usd driver side axle to wobble? The passenger side does not wobble or make any noise. Watching your video, I seen that there is the bearing on the differential and I’m thinking maybe the left side is worn loose, but would that cause both axles to be loose? Really just trying to figure out why my axle is rotationally off balance wobbling from the transmission only. Wheel bearings are tight so is axle. And if I push up on the axle it does have significant play Any info appreciated as it just became a pronounced problem on my daily driver.
@@GaryFerraro yes sir, I recently replaced the axle, well, maybe a year ago. It should still be fairly new, barely drove it maybe 2000mi cause I have 2 vehicles i also drive it like a grandma. Do you happen to know if the axle/trans seal plays any role in keeping the axle centric? Or any reason the differential would come slightly loose? Ideally I’m talking like a super loud rotational wobble that is due to only about 1/4” of extra play at trans, compared to the factory axle play on the passenger side at trans. I might just have to take this thing apart but it’s intimidating.
It's a 2003 Pontiac vibe I believe it has the a246e, It has p0770 and when I decelerate it wouldn't down shift so I changed the fluid and filter and the made it worse now I have problems shifting 2nd to 3rd and passing gear
@@loganlikeslemons That code can be due to worn front stator bushing, solenoid or converter but iof not shifting correctly may have more going on, when you changed the fluid did you drop the pan? if so how was it?
Thank you for your help, I did drop the pan the fluid was real dirty the car has 150000 miles and probably never had it changed the pan had grey sediment no big peices or shavings that I could see
@@GaryFerraro I have a pontiac vibe with this transmission and keep getting a P0741. Ever seen one of these with that code? If so what's most likely cause? I've changed fluid multiple times and it will clear it up, but usually returns a couple months later.

sometimes those inner joints get worn out, have you replaced the axle?

The axle seal does not, we has plenty of times when a new axle went bad@@Corolla_Beau
@@GaryFerraro I’ll try to pull it apart this upcoming weekend and inspect everything. Thanks for the information!! Highly appreciated!
Good job
Gracias por el video muy informativo
My Toyota Corolla ae110 1994 model have a problem with transmission when I put in reverse it goes forward what could be the problem
Have you checked to make sure linkage is correct. What happens in Neutral
Tks vry mch
Heard from a good source you have one with a 1/2 million miles on it in for good going thru. 👍
86lowrider lol. You are correct
Thanks Gary. What broke the gear?
TakeCare,
Bill
Yes the rear ring gear split
I need to see the re assembly of the a245e
Rose Joseph Sorry. I do not have a video on assembly
@@GaryFerraro i was hoping for the same thing. Thanks for your work Gary.
Hi what make gear box automatic not to go front or back
could be low fluid, bad pump or even a clogged filter, also a blown torque converter
@@GaryFerraro ok thenks can falve body be a course
Hi Gary , it´s a pleasure to see your work here at youtube. What´s your opinion on the U340E transmission ?
There not bad, honestly, we dont get many of these
Hello where do you buy your parts for the a245e
Transtar, With this trans do you have any codes like a P0741

I just did this transmission, and I plugged in the wrong cylinder. Next time I will take a picture.
You mean you installed wrong solenoid? or crossed the wires?
@@GaryFerraro I crossed the wires
@@JosePerez-fw1zj Yes, i always take a picture with my phone, wires are easy to cross
@@GaryFerraro yessssssss
OLOYEDE, Your post did not show, you can e-mail me gsferraro@yahoo.com
only if the pressure regulator valve is stuck open, You should drop the pan and see if any debris is in the pan
