Huge respect Steven don’t mean to step over your toes but. A trick that I have figure and I see you doing is to get inverted you must flex your front leg and strait your back leg as soon a you do half back roll and look down to your hand when you are scratching the water.. and remember!! NO LOOP NO GLORY 🤣!! Keep the tutorials coming bro they are awesome
You're completely right! And that is for sure a way to add style to the inversion, but not necessarily THE way to get inverted. I'm happy that it helps you, must look awesome 😉 It is something I could have added in the video for sure. Keep on shredding and thanks for the support. Ninja on 👊
@@stevenakkersdijk ...would really love any tip on getting inverted because I have everything including the loop but I am severely missing the steeze factor with the invert. I can do inverts exactly like this on straight airs but I struggle to get them in the rotations. Same struggle with frontroll inverts.
I have this trick mostly dialed, even the loop but now I need to work on getting inverted because I feel that I look sloppy. So happy to see this trick in the same riding direction as I do them because I can't seem to unpick the technique watching it reversed in other videos. And strangely, though the darkslide is supposed to help, I do my darkslides on the other side...
I also started with my darkslides to the other side somehow, so you're not the only one. Good luck with getting it inverted, doesn't come overnight but with enough practise you'll get there 😉
@@stevenakkersdijk so I finally figured out how to get inverted. I unlocked the Frontroll Invert Tailgrab on the left side so when I do the Backroll Handdrag on the right, it's the same leg extension. Still refining it but happy to finally get inverted!
Can you do an advanced version of this. Really would like to see some variations of what you can do like you suggested at the beginning. Thanks, love this trick!
I'll give this a go next time I'm on the water and conditions are good. I've got backrolls dialed in both ways but am at a stage where that's all I tend to do. Will be good to give this a go 👍
Great video 🤙 Did my first one as a transition and with a kiteloop a few days ago. The loop is actually way easier 😅 it felt extremely natural. This trick is so much fun 😄 I’ll try it with more power next time.
Working on this trick.... can y comment on the direction of the board in relation to the wind direction when u begin the hand drag...ie upwind, down wind or ....?.....doesn't matter.
As much as I appreciate your videos, the duotone video is better here. I would have liked to see the trick demontrated in its simplest form and not inverted. And steps to build up as you did in the darkslide video.
Hey Niles, thank you for the feedback. This was still one of my earlier tutorials where I was less focussed on the buildup towards the trick. The Duotone videos are great and I'm not trying to replace those videos at all, there are so many good tutorials out there and it's up to the preference of the rider which they prefer. I'll put this video on the list for a renewal with smaller steps on how to get there.
A nother high quality tutorial, well done... 🤘
Thanks man! Have all the time to create them now 😅
Excellent! As always
Thank you! Cheers!

It’s kinda like throwing a ninja kick

Yeeeeeaaaaaah!!! This Trick I want to learn since I land my darkslide 😋 but I try/learn other tricks before 🙃
Oh yeah! Give it a try at some point
Cool video as always!
Thanks man!
@@stevenakkersdijk Guess what: I landed my first real backroll hand drags today
Really helpful - looking forward for more content like this! 🙌
Awesome! Happy you like it. Will see what else I still have on the hard drive

Man these are great. Thanks
Awesome, I'm happy you like them.
@@stevenakkersdijk I was actually able to practice yesterday. Felt great. Not inverted and could loop after but I’m getting there

Great idea! Will keep it on the list for when I can hit the water again

Hi Steven, THANKS ALOT
You are welcome!
great videos - can you do one on the front roll....
Yes I can. Will try to film it asap!

Until you start trying it strapless surfboard style😎
crashed meny times yesterday,, thanks for your suggestions
Hope you learned something from it and you'll stick it next time 🤙
Done!!!! @@stevenakkersdijk thanks again!
I get really long drags with this and have perfected it just fingertips all the way with the exact same exit. Does not feel like it drops jaws though.
If you get a smile on your face from it, you're a winner.
❤great👍👏
Thank you! Cheers!
The spit!
Oh yes, such an amazing spot!
if my board is to heavy I could not do it right?
It will get a little bit harder, but unless your board is 10kg+, you should be able to do it
Only if you're board is made of concrete!
