    Hi, I bought this machine from you a few years ago and it’s a joy to use. I also bought a sewing machine end of last year and had to contact you (Sew Essential) about it and was very impressed with the help I received. Loved the video, makes me want to do some sewing 🧵 😊.

    Lucy, you were so helpful on the phone when I was looking to buy this machine. I've had it a couple of months now and love it. I hoped you would do a demonstration video just to confirm that I was doing the threading correctly. I think I am, so I'm quite pleased with myself that I worked it out ok. This is a super video and much better than the Babylock version. Thank you again. (I'd better get my guarantee filled in - thanks for the reminder ! )

    Many thanks Lucy. Seems to be very little Desire 3 content about so that’s very useful. I’d be interested to hear from you about the Desire 3 Compendium. It’s quite an investment so I’d love to know a bit more about what it would give me over and above the manual that comes with the machine. Thanks

      Hi Debbie, great question. The compendium gives you a lot more than the manual, the main additional extra is that it goes through the different feet and accessories available to buy and gives you tips and tricks for using them. It can also be used as a workbook, it has space allocated for you to add samples of your work and the different types of stitches you've tried so you have a record to refer back to. Also as Baby Lock bring out new accessories there will be additional inserts created that you can buy separately and add to your collection. I hope that helps, let us know if you need anything else.

    Fabulous video Lucy! It's better than any other demo I've seen, even on the Baby Lock website. I have both an entry level Baby Lock serger (overlocker) and machine and want to upgrade. I think it's an amazing brand and I've been eyeing coverstitch machines. However, there are sufficient negative reviews out there about getting a combination machine that I've been hesitating getting one. If you didn't already own a combo machine, would you still buy it or go for a separate overstitch machine so you didn't have to reset all the needles, etc several times within a single project? Thank you!

      Hi Rita, wow thanks for the lovely feedback. Personally I have no issue at all with a combined machine. I have limited space and have to get my machine out and pack it away whenever I use it so a combination works well for me in that respect. Also I tend to use the overlocker function about 80% of the time and the coverstitch function about 20% of the time so I don't have to change it over very often. More importantly, when I do, it is so easy as shown in the video. I could very easily change to two separate machines, but have never chosen to do so because I really honestly love this machine! If you have a dedicated sewing space and can have them all set up at the same time you might want to consider purchasing them separately. If you do want a chat about any of this in more detail just give us a ring on 01283210422 and we'll be really happy to help

      Amazing response time! Thank you so much. You've given me plenty to think about. Unfortunately, when I make my final decision, I will have to purchase the machine closer to where I live in the U.S. due to the shipping cost. I do occasionally get patterns and fabric from you, but the machine is a bit much! Lol. I do feel a bit guilty getting all your wisdom and then not being able to purchase from you. Hopefully, other sewists will see this thread and become your customers. @@SewEssential

    Great video .
    I have the Babylock Enlighten overlocker , also air threading.
    I am now interested in getting a cover stitch machine . Would you suggest I get this Desire and leave it as a Coverstitch machine ? what do u recommend pls ?

    • @SewEssential
      @SewEssential  6 месяцев назад +1

      If you're keeping the Enlighten I would recommend getting a stand alone coverstitch machine - the Euphoria is slightly cheaper than the Desire 3 and if you already have an overlocker you don't need a combined machine. You can see the Euphoria here on our site www.sewessential.co.uk/babylock-euphoria-coverstitch-machine and if you need any help at all don't hesitate to ask. You will be sewing to your heart's content with this dream combination of overlocker and coverstitch machines

    I have this machine and it's a delight to use - I follow the settings and it always does exactly want it's meant to do. However I sometimes find the right hand chain stitch port less easy to thread than the others, and often need to use a heavier thread 'cradle' to bring the thread through. Have you any experience of this, or any suggestions?

    Hi, I was wondering if you could spare some time to answer my question. While using both needles for hem on the jeans, I couldn't match the tightness of the threads. And the seam just didn't turn out right, because on the lower loop it was accumulation. Do you know is it a problem if when using 3 threads they're not of the same thickness?
