keep showing everything! The manufacturers instruction can be confusing . Using modern equipment adds to the confusion sometimes. I learn a lot every time and I like seeing every process. The receiver Sounds great to me now.
Great alignment Mike. Keep ‘em coming! Very much appreciate your attention to detail and the extra time you take to explain what and why you are doing what you’re doing. Also appreciate the tight video editing as well.
Thank you for this. I'm picking up an SX100 in a few days so I'm not sure what surprises are in store, but I hope to do a proper recap and a thorough check of all the resistors. One question, could you provide the spec of those safety caps you used? In the schematic I downloaded there's a 60uF and a couple of 20uF electrolytics listed.
Great Mike it might be helpful to add the types of equipment being used like what signal generator and other equipment. and how you hooked up the equipment to the radio
In most cases the service manual tells you how they wish you to connect to the radio along with levels and required signals. Once you do a few following the manu's instructions it quickly becomes second nature.
Hi Mike, Thank you for doing the alignment on this SX-100. I also have an SX-100 & a S-76 receiver. The alignment procedures are very similar for both but can be a little perplexing without the use of proper alignment equipment. Can you please let me know how I can obtain the Spectrum Analyzer software you use on your lap top for alignment? One of the comments below from one of your other subscribers suggests a more detailed explanation of where you hook up the test equipment on the SX-100 for each alignment procedure. I know the manual does explain that but it would be very helpful to see it done as you perform each alignment proceedure. Thank you again for your very informative video's. Bill
New Subscriber Here. Would You show and describe what test equipment you use? I didn't know how off the alignment had been. Can you explain if you do a SINAD or not and the reason to do or not to do?
I dont do SINAD level measurements on these old girls. I tune them to peak as best as possible. I have done a few videos on test gear, I will post a few here. But you should also view the S 76 restoration project if you are interested in SX 100 style operation. ruclips.net/video/biYfpkCCLbg/видео.htmlsi=wtU9qw5JA-5J67S7
I really like this type of content. So glad I found your channel!!!

I use an isolation transformer for my safety ahead of my Variac so I will add a toggle switch to turn off Chassis ground when appropriate, Matt
love seeing it all!! lets do the rf!!

Hey Mike this is Mike. Do you have or do you know where I can get a voltage chart for the SX-100?
Voltages are written right on the schematic.
