I am running by the sea next thursday and what a sea - the atlantic sea. Its wonderfull. Very impressive running by you I think..... congrates to the park run.
Well done mate. Nothing wrong with turning the legs over faster than you thought you were going to. It is good for your mental health to do that, especially as you have been a little deflated recently due to your niggles so it's all good. That's another stunning location you get to run at, I am not jealous in the slightest 😂 Great to see your mojo back in this installment 👍
Feel good, go good, that usually works. I always want to get a runners high, so I'm only really happy, if I run so hard that I "taste blood." So you will get 2 thumbs up from me. There is nothing but lovely people here and I blame you Freddy. I have looked at dozens of running podcasts but your story was so honest and humble, I HAD to subscribe.
Thank you so much for the kind words Scott, that’s really great to hear! I’m just being myself, so I’m really pleased that you can enjoy the journey. 💯🙏
@@freddyruns When I saw the look on your face, when you ran 26:01 for 5k, I remember that moment, I have felt so many times. The pure joy and disbelief of running a new benchmark, was again, so inspirational. And at that moment I thought, Freddy may be a new member of this wonderful club, but your enthusiasm touched an old nerve, thank you and....GO FREDDY, and keep being yourself, there is only one of you on the planet. My second fav moment is where you admitted to having 3 drinks the night before the 26:01.
As long as your run was and you are still painfree you've done everything right... having some fun/enjoying your run... I have never run a parkrun but I guess I would have done the same. I can be quite competetive - always running against me, my last run or whatever even when I am just out on a "fun run", easy run, slow run ... does not matter what kind of run ... I would not even think about trying to run slow on a park run with all these people around me😂 ... but maybe it would only be kind of a flight because of too many people running around me there😳😱 ... love running around alone in the woods ...only sometimes I do some virtual runs or things like the app run of wings for life run soon as I mentioned ... having myself around me is challenging enough🤣
The woods and trails are my favourite place to be . I’m like you though, I have to really fight against racing with myself - it was made worse at ParkRun when I was late getting there, it really spurred me on to catch everyone up 🤣
Everyone is great at GIVING sage nuggets of wisdom, but we rarely actually FOLLOW it ourselves! 😆 At the end of the day, you had a great run in a beautiful place and didn't worsen the niggle, so it's a day well spent. That guy with the tire is a beast!
It’s a fun one for sure Dave, paths can be a little tight but guess you could jump on the grass if needed. Highly recommend it though if you’re ever up here 👍
I took a rare trip to the coast today - it's only about once or twice a year we manage to get down that way - but I said to the wife "if you see a big ginger lad with a red running vest on, tell me" 😂
@@freddyruns it must just be the vest reflecting red light upwards towards your heed... Lmao I'm sorry mate, once I get started it's hard to stop. I'll never call you red headed again 😂
If Kristian Blumenfeldt is right and "Injury prevention and consistency is key, because there is no single key session". It must be true that there is also no bad session per see. I pushed too much with a double day by first trying a garmin LT threshold test, but I bailed out early. After a warm up and 8 minutes faster than easy and 4 minute at 5:15/k, 4 minutes at 5:01/k, I quit when it told me to go 3 more faster and the upcoming tennis match felt jeopardized. I had 2:30 hours of tennis doubles in the afternoon and my legs feel pretty beaten up now. It was too much, but I am not injured either and Ihave a rest day scheduled tomorrow. It'll do, but I might need to tweaking the sessions early next week
Looks like a good one. As you say, would be spectacular on a sunny morning! I don’t think that running it was necessarily too bad, you didn’t push too hard and felt good. And enjoying it is the main thing!

Thanks Mark! Yeah, the north isn’t as grim as some might suggest. Definitely feeling a little more upbeat now!

I enjoy running by the sea there’s nothing like it on earth good effort buddy
It’s the best isn’t it? Seem to spend most my running time in the coast or trails, even better they they both combine together!
too fast? maybe, maybe not. Whats awesome is how much you're just enjoying being out, love the positivity!
Thanks mate, I do love it - all of life’s stresses just disappear for a while 😊

Good to see you at the parkrun, I was barcode scanning
Thanks for calling over Ian, I was a little delirious at that point, I hope I didn’t come across as being rude! 🤣
Hardest challenge ever... running a parkrun slowly 😂
It’s impossible.. fact! 🤣
Guy with the tyres a legend! Should have played some rocky music. I need to get myself back down to a parkrun
I love ParkRun, such a friendly atmosphere
Well done mate, running really well. The progress is awesome!
Thanks Shane, just got to keep moving forward 😊🏃♂️

Yeah, I wouldn’t want to be dragging that around for 5km! What a guy!
Looks like a nice parkrun, if a bit narrow in places! Would be good to give it a try next time I'm up in the north east

I’m going to have to work on my colour grading! I have a little ginger in my beard but I’m not a ginger!!!!! 🤣😜

@@banksarenotyourfriends hahaha I’m actually starting to think my wife’s ginger hair (and the kids for that matter) is rubbing off on to me!!!
it was great to see u there, I was with the Ashington Hirsties & it was my 1st Whitley Bay Parkrun. Thanks for the wave on the 1st lap
I had one of those awkward moments when you waved… I waved back then wondered if there was someone behind me that you were actually waving at!! 🤣

2.30 of tennis sounds brutal on its own!! That’s awesome Ralph! I think I was just mentally preparing myself to be told off 🤣

Cheers Mike, I did have fun- would have really kicked myself if it went pear shaped though 🤦♂️😊
What headphones are you using? What's the sound quality like, decent bass?
Keep your eye out for a video Michael, I’ve been asked to review the ones I’m wearing in this video by the headphone company… 😉
Whats that car you drive in ?
It looks like an old Citroen. Right ?
No, it’s an Audi A5 convertible. I don’t have it anymore though
Why did you not bring a tire too?
I carry enough spare tyres already! 🤣😜
