- Thanks to Jacob (jacooboo photography) I learned of the harvesting of this unusual crop. It obviously works well for this farm as the acreage seems to me to be a lot more than last year.
Filmed in Cumbria, England.
NB Some people wish to know more details of location. I cannot do this because I always assure farmers of anonymity, and they are happy with this. Without it, some would turn me away, to your loss as well as mine!
Nice machinery at work!
Sure is!
Nice one Alan. That's quite the harvester you got there! FR780 is quite the beast, quite some more horsepower than the ones over here ;)
Indeed it is! And working hard, by the sound of it!
Glad you caught them Alan, that New Holland is quite a sight!
Yes, it was being worked hard by the sound of it!
Very nice Alan, here they use it as a cover crop in a maize/rye/maize rotation, but it is at about grass hight when (and if) they harvest. And good to see you found another FR in your area !
Thanks Dennis. I was delighted because apart from a demo last year, I haven't seen a NH for years.
Great looking piece kit that New Holland there Alan, a new model round us, when i catch it working that is, Steve .
It sure is, thanks Stephen.
Lovely video. Nice to see a New Holland chopper at work. Not many of them here in County Cork.Mostly Deeres and Claas. think the only time I saw a modern New Holland chopper working was at a demo.
Thanks very much. Same here except that it's nearly all Claas!
Very nice, Balmesh!
Cheers!
Good video, greetings Johan
Thank you very much!
Good stuff Alan!
Thanks a lot Tim!
An excellent crop that challenged the chopper!

2:15 when you eat taco bell the night before
If you say so? I don't know what taco bell is!!
Good catch, not seen any grown around here :)
No - I haven't seen any more, anywhere! Though in South Wales there was a guy used rye for early green silage, undersown.
Great video 👍👍
Thanks for the visit Sandy.
That's got to do a lot of work to earn its keep Alan, looks like mega investment.
There's acres and acres of rye and lots of grass as well!
they normally use hybrid Rye for AD plants
Thanks Sam. Didn't know that.
@@balmesh welcome bud they also use grass and maize in AD plants
