Gus Gould is such a voice of wisdom and expertise based on his wonderful playing, coaching and administrative career but it's a pity he is so one-eyed when it comes to Penrith

I'm a Penrith fan, and the result was expected. But good luck to the Cowboys in the finals, at least when you are not playing us! I think the cowboys may surprise a lot of people.

Great win even though it was the reserves, Cowboys had many errors and missed opportunities, I reckoned the score margin would’ve been larger
Blackers try saver tackle on SDW is one of the best of the season so far for mines
It will be talked heaps about how The Panthers were missing a lot of big guns but The Cowboys dealt to them like they should have.
They rested the whole panthers side so they got their nsw cup side to get a taste of first grade

Baby pen refs did OK? I think the cows played very carefully and casual, as to avoid reports, suspensions, and injuries? If it was a Ruthless team like the storm or chooks they might of put 100 on them but the young squad played surprisingly well? And the cows only needed a win. No need to show off, like the roosters tigers game? Bring on the finals. Yee hah!

Couldn't help but think the cowboys used up all their 9 lives in this game. Next week will be interesting.
I really dislike it when teams rest there entire first grade squad & field an entirely new rookie reserve grade squad on the park, I get that this game meant nothing for Penrith & they have the luxury of resting there whole first grade squad to keep them well rested & fresh for the finals next week which is a wise tactic, however when this happens it feels like teams simply just throw games away & don’t care if they lose giving the opposition team that plays them almost a guaranteed victory, this inturn has an effect on the top 8 & overall the entire ladder come seasons end. What the NRL should do is be smart & implement the AFL system, where all top 8 teams earn a weeks rest to avoid this shambolic outcome of giving one team the luxury of resting players while the other teams battle it out being battered come week 1 of the finals. This same system should also be implemented around Origin time where all teams not only a select few get a bye to avoid having teams play a weakened side & have the luxury of an almost guaranteed easy win, nowadays any team that plays Penrith around origin period plays a B grade squad, tell me how that is fair when other teams have to play them at there peak strength, just food for thought moving forward.

The situation that Penrith are in this year doesn't happen very often, so it's not a problem that needs to be fixed. The problem with teams being depleted at Origin time happens every year though, and yes there needs to be a fairer system.
I still got no idea who's going in the grand final but I know one of them is going to be the Cowboys...

They're the easiest team and we will thrash them again.
Cows winning will be seen as only due to Panthers playing the back up team. Though i think Cowboys wanted to play well get a big score to give them confidence for the play offs. Great Season for them will be interesting to see how far they go
They played pretty simple they missed a lot of opportunities to score more points
@billybanks Would be a shock. I watched the last GF Cowboys played that last second try from Felt then the drop goal from JT. If Cowboys won this year GF would say it tops that one. As the Panthers are such a good team.
