The bands that are considered the progenitors of heavy metal; Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, are the "classic" way to start from where it started, and then if they like that style they can branch out to the many, MANY sub-genres of metal.
@@MichaelMiller-uo9uj "Deep Purple" by Artie Shaw and Helen Forrest (on the Bluebird label, march 1939) was one of the last regular issued and common available US-recordings in Germany in 1939 on the Electrola label (EG.6883), shortly bevor, due to war restrictions, english spoken dance-music was banned from the catalogues in september 1939. The Erhard Bauschke version was recorded in may, 1939 in Berlin .
"Anyone know what year this is?" As I type this, It's currently 2024. But only for about one more month. But when you asked, it was 2011. Hope you figured it out.
published in 1937 it was originally written 1922? recorders to capture the harmonies did not exist until 1931... your music history is a wee bit off! students study deep purple for the three stage harmonies becoming famous after wwi that would be in every gin joint in the 30s coming out of the depression and into wwII but good job...

And for those who don't know, Ritchie Blackmore plays lead guitar for the rock band Deep Purple. :)
