Just want to let everybody know the newest ES5000 only require one BMS cable into the master inverter. DO NOT USE the hub and plug into both. The grey communication cables now handle the BMS management between inverters. You’ll will have intermittent connection if you don’t follow this process.

On the Growatt SPF 3000TL LVM-48P I was able to make it work by connecting to the BMS port on the inverter, not the RS485. Same settings otherwise.

Thank you for explaining the dip switches. The instructions are good, but it's a little confusing with the newer lifepower4's. It says "reserved for communications"... This makes it so clear, thank you!

Are these growatt inverters use the fan when solar power just goes to the grid? Or is the fan only on when you use 48v to power the house ?

If I want to use these batteries on my mpp solar inverters, does communication also work. In the manual the eg4 batteries are not mentioned.

If you're dealing with LifePower4, the EG4 Communication hub is your go-to for seamless communication with Dyness inverters. However, if you're working with LL-V1 batteries, don't forget to ensure they've got the latest firmware update for optimal performance.

We do not, if there is one, you would need to contact Huawei or Growatt.
Do you sell the inverter,breaker box,transformer already assembled?Or could you include the wiring diagram to assemble?
The Breaker box necessary varies depending on how large your Inverter Stack is, the transformer is plugged in just like another inverter.

Can you explain how to configure a system with 16 batteries ( 2 racks ) and 3 Growatt 5k inverters?
you need the 8 port hub, then you address all the batteries individually, the top battery that communicates with Growatt gets the address of 01, the op battery will communicate out of the RS485 port into the hub and you will connect each inverter via rs485 port into the hub as well, set the inverter battery mode to LI and parameter 01 as shown in the video
On another video, Your tech support, showing the LifePower 4's, stated that the DIP's had to be all ON (down position) to make it master, all other DIP's in any combo, as long as there is no repeat. Is the difference because of batt model?
Yes, they have different control boards so you must follow the instructions for each model.
Is it necessary to have the battery bank connected to the inverter?Is it doing anything more than relaying battery state of charge info to the inverter then its available to the wifi stick then your phone/tablet? If they are located in same room can't you just look at the batteries?I'm not knocking it just want as few wires as possible to have to hide.
Actually, it is very important to have the battery communicating with the inverter/charger, in order to get the best battery life, by having the BMS (battery management system) of the battery telling the inverter/charger what to do (in regard of charging/discharging voltage and ampers)

For the new LifePo4s, if I parallel 2 batteries, the dip switches on master are all off (module 1) while the second is the third switch up (module 2)?
On EGYLL the master is 3 down, 1 up
Followed the instructions 100% except I'm plugging directly into a single Growatt RS485 port and I get a Low voltage fault 04. If I move to the GW BMS port fault goes away.?? Further none of my voltages on the pannel switch to %? they still read in voltages? And voltage is near 53 volts so should not get a 04 fault.. Whats going on ?
On the newer ES models you only need to plug one comm cable into the BMS port, not the 485 port on the ES Inverter. And to get the % reading you need to select Li and then change the 036 parameter from L00 to L01 or Li will not lock in and give you the %.

Is the rs485 cable the same as Ethernet? My Inverter and battery came without the cable and I'm trying to find one to buy but the search results are not quite clear. Growatt inverter and Rosen (China) battery setup

@@wilson_hosn yes, they are the same. Although not all the 8 tiny internal cables are used when it's an rs485 port. It uses about 4 out of the 8.
Slightly off the subject and not using the Growatt inverters for this communication setup. Would the Growatt Charge controller have the same communication capability to talk to the EG4LL batteries? I have ordered 6 of the 48v batteries. My current system is has a Schneider XW6848 inverter but they use Xanbus for communications. With my luck I doubt there batteries would be able to communicate with my system. But I need to add more panels and an additional charge controller.

@@SignatureSolar similar question, will this be able to communicate with a Sol Ark inverter? I believe it uses Canbus over an RS485. I think it is stated as supporting the open source SunSpec 'draft 4' version for CanBus similar to SMA inverters... information is from september 2020 solar forum (can't verify acuracy) I'm not an IT programming guy... but I am a great electrician. thank you

When did the EG4-LL batteries get the digital display etc. ? I paid for 6, and a rack the same day I got an email notification you had a large shipment coming in. this was early July. Are my batteries going to be these new version? or the old version? in the battery sales area, there are pictures of both types, and it is not clear what is being shipped. Thank you.
If your Batteries said LCD then yes, the LCD version will cost more and have a 10 YR warranty. the non-LCD LIFEPOWER4 has the 5 year warranty and the same growatt comms

Looking for a fix to an inverter shutdown issue , I came across this and it explains the settings really well , thank you .
Every day I have to restart my 2 inverter/3x 200ah li batteries as it shuts down as soon as the batteries are full .
the dipswitch buttons are all set to 1 so next they will be set 1/2/3 .
I dont think the BMS is communicating with each battery as I am trying AGM setting .
Any thoughts please ? its been running this way since installation May 2022 !
I've checked the specs for the EG4LL batteries on your site but cant seem to find the Lug size for wire that I attach. what type of Lugs do they use? 3/8" or 5/16"? And Can i connect 2 AWG wire directly to them?
6mm lug diameter. up to 100A of load/charge, 2 awg is fine
I ordered a rack a few days ago but the one you are using there has a cover and door! How do I get that one??
In order to keep the prices down, they don't have the door and the top anymore, they just have plastic shrouds over the buss bars.
Where are those batteries oh darn I don't have the money to buy even one of them well I guess it's something I can look forward to I would like to have 24 of those batteries.

We , me and Drik Heimbürger , Need very urgend you technical support.
We connect 3x for your Battery-pack (48V, 50Ah) in serial DC ( 144v , 50Ah) , and RS485 communication Cables .
Then we connect the DC output to the Growatt Hybrid inverter SPH5000TL3 DC, and via CAN with an CAN-Cable also to the CAN - Plug of the Inverter.
BUT Growatt Inverter can not communicate with YOUR Battery-Packs!??
So, we need urgend , for YOUR application we use, technical support / connection plan scetch from your tecnical depatment.
Also we must konw , how to set the dip-switches for each battery-pack (Master and slave settings for each Pack) ?
Aslo we need to know , if we need special CAN cables or Special RS485 Cables????
