Ruben Dias changed City's defence forever.
An argument can be made that Kompany did that, but I have to agree Dias has been immensely important to our defence.

@@jovaughnthompson354 agreed but at the same time Kompany was playing with otamendi, lescott, mangala, demichelis he did play with stones but he was no where near the player he is today. Kompany tried and often times succeeded but in some of the big games and champions league nights he couldn’t hold the entire back line by himself. Strictly In the defense alongside him Dias has had much much better players around him than kompany did most of the time. Can’t really compare the 2 and say our defensive solidarity is single handedly due to Dias therefor he’s better than kompany and the sole reason why we have done better in the UCL

During Pep era at City: Haaland & Ruben Dias are the only big signings that had terrific debut season and i feel like Ruben Dias is the most crucial signing in Pep's City career. They had a disappointing 2019/20 PL season, KO by Lyon in UCL and they started the 2020/21 season very poorly but the last day Dias signing changed everything

Ruben Dias is already coming of age as a future world-class international central defender. When Ronaldo eventually retires, he has to take the captain's armband off him. He is one of many in the current Manchester City squad that just continue to bring success to the club and he is already a supporters favourite. And right now, if there was a great starting 11 of all time or this season, he goes straight in.
He's 26 now, hardly the wonderkid he was 4 years ago. True, Ruben has been among the best defenders in the world since 2020, but I wouldn't go so far to say that he belongs in an all-time 11.
