This is legit!! I am planning a trip to Greece this winter and was craving both the coastal towns and snowy mountains. I didn't know I could do that dichotomy before your video lol.
It's really hard to believe that foreigners doesn't expect snow in Greece. We are mountainous country guys by 85%. It's really crazy for someone to think that we don't have snow. Even many islands have. There are actually hundreds of hidden Gems in Mainland Greece. Visit Pindos Mountains and Epirus next time
Yes I totally agree! I think its because its so famous for its summer and islands that people don't even realise there's snow. I definitely want to explore some more of this country's mountains! ill be sure to check out those places when I next visit! Thanks for the comment 👍
Love the overall message of your video, and thank you for visiting during Winter and sharing this other side of Greece!!!!! :) Being Greek, but born and living in another country, this is the Greece I was taught about and told about haha Actually Winter is my favourite time to visit because it feels like you have the country all to yourself. There really are some amazing Winter Wonderlands in Greece... such as Kastoria, Samarina, Elatia (Drama), Mount Olympus, Vasilitsa, Mainalo etc. It's so funny hearing the shock of foreigners when I tell them greece has heavy snow and proper Winters. Also great job with the footage, it truly looks magical!!! Beautiful mountain and forest and I love the Ekklisaki (mini church)
You should go in Φλώρινα-florina its place that is so beautiful both winter and summer it looks like Amsterdam and crazy i hope you go there its really beautiful 🇬🇷🇬🇷👋🏻
@@Tristandewet My family is from the southern part of Greece :) I would say to visit Dimitsana and Stemnitsa which are mountain villages. They are close to Mount Mainalo and I would say that foreigners generally don't know about them. There's a beautiful village called Kosmas which is on Mount Parnonas. Beautiful coastal regions are Kyparrisi (Lakonia) & Monemvasia. Mani area is nice too with places like Gerolimenas, Vathia (old abandoned village) and Diros Caves
Well, snow isn't at all rare in Greece. In a normal winter, up to 40% of the country will be covered with snow at huge amounts of time during the season. 80% of the country is mountainous, after all. Plus, there are many instances of countrywide snowstorms which can cover up to 80% of the country with snow. The latest one was last January, when Athens even was covered up to 90 cms of snow (in the suburbs).
