We are in San Antonio now. We live in Dallas but love to visit San Antonio. Great video!
Thank you
Whenever we're in Texas we always go to the SaltGrass Steakhouse. Great steaks and food at a reasonable price. The restaurants started in Texas but are now spreading outside of Texas. A really good treat.
We saw one of those , we must try them
@@ThemeParkBazza, yes there's one right on the river walk. They accidently served my 15 year old daughter (now 30 years old) an alchoholic drink there and she didn't tell anyone. That was her favorite restaurant of all time from then on. lol
went to Texas in 2010 as the wife had seen an article on San Antonio in a magazine, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and ended up at Houston-its a brilliant state to visit hopefully one day will get back there
We had a lot of fun
I looked the Alamo up and didn't realise that
More than 80% who fought were Scottish or of Scottish decent. They still hold a gathering on 6th April each year. They turn up in tartan, play bagpipes, and do Scottish dancing
Very cool
I am enjoying your trip to Texas. I've never been but would like to visit sometime after viewing your vlogs. The museum looks very interesting and I would like to visit the Alamo as well as the Riverwalk.Thank you for taking us along.
We liked the museum, apart from all the dead animals :-)
Bazza, a great vlog, did i really hear Maxine say she had enough drink? She's from Yorkshire for goodness sake! lol Fan bloody tastic guys x
Pay no attention, that was just the alcohol talking 🤣
Great vlog! Looked like a really nice meal. I liked how they did the cauliflower. Glad you had a lovely time. 👍
That cauliflower was amazing for sure
I live in San Antonio and I’m SO happy you liked our city. It’s really more like a big village, I think. We have a slow pace, but some history and we’ve preserved our culture, such as it is. We LOVE visitors and hope you’ll come back!
Oh we will be back, we want to do a road trip across Texas
@@ThemeParkBazza ♥️🥰♥️🫶😍
Mr & Mrs Bazza!! You have inspired us to go visit San Antonio!! Your very influential for a man of a certain age 😂
Lovely to see you enjoying yourselves ❤
😊 thank you
Buckhorn museum… never been but the bar is amazing! 🍺🍹🍷🍻. That steak dinner looked amazing and because, I live in a tourist area, the prices looked great to me. Glad you enjoyed your visit to Texas.
I miss the food in Texas!
The food was absolutely amazing
Another excellent vlog… we love you guys! Hope to be able to meet you both at the June meet up just before we fly home! X
I hope so too!
Great video! I’ve never seen cotton candy in a restaurant before!
The only other place we have seen it is the Golden Coral buffet, never a restaurant
Another great day out. The pork crackling looked blooming good 👍🏽 😊😊 What a novel idea….candy floss pudding 😂😂😂😂😂
And it was free !!!
Another good blog 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I really love San Antonio. I went to Air Force basic training there a loooong time ago. And I've visited the city several times with my husband and children. I love the area with restaurants and the water canal alongside it. I truly love their Mexican food, and only New Mexico has better food. I think San Antonio is beautiful, but I haven't been since the late 1990s to early 2000s. I love going into museums, along the Riverwalk, staying along the Riverwalk, and trying all the food! I enjoy your videos because you show all these things, and the food and drinks you have! And I love British pubs and Irish pubs. I found an Irish pub here in St Louis that has really great fish and chips! That's not something you find often! You are so funny when going into the museum's saloon and slapping your hands on the bar, asking Max if she wants a whiskey! You must have watched a lot of old Western tv shows! And I LOVE bread and butter pudding! We had it at the Irish Pub in St Louis! It was really good! Watching your dinner after the Alamo. My daughter would love that cotton candy. It was her fave treat as a child! Imagine getting it at a nice restaurant!!!
All the food we had was amazing in Texas
Another great video
Thank you
Hi guys as always a great vlog very funny that bread and butter pudding looked so so good keep safe Andy and Vonnie
It was amazing. I have to say
Hi lovelies 🤗🤗 so funny 😂 😂 when Lord B went through the saloon doors to get his 🥃 👏
Classic Western, I even dubbed in the cowboy boots with spurs effect
What a fun day. So many people though (it was the weekend I think). First time I was in San Antonio the Alamo was closed as it was a commemorative day with re-enactments. We were driving and got stuck behind some guys in costumes and drumming so only saw the mission through the car windows. Second time we were only there for one night so stayed in the Hyatt right on the river walk and right across from the Alamo. If you ever get to the Bay Area, Northern California, in San Jose there is the Winchester Mystery House. Built by Sarah Winchester the widow of William Winchester who developed and manufactured the well known repeating rifle. A lot of myths evolve around the house, many false. At one time it had 500 rooms. Sarah died in 1922 and within months it became a tourist attraction.
Thanks for the tip on SJ
Great vlog, the Alamo is somewhere I’d love to visit as it’s such a historic place.
Shame you couldn’t get on the boat, I was hoping to see what you’ve learned from cruise vloggers.
I wasn’t expecting to hear Sweet Caroline in an bar there and that was the largest candy floss I’ve ever seen 😂
We tried our best to get on a boat but to no avail , so singing it had to be :-)
The Winchester was also the club in Minder 👍🏻🤣
Yes it was with Arfur and Terry
We want to visit Austin and this made us think San Antonio would be great too. Thinking of 2 nights in Austin and 1 in SA - is that enough
Hopefully the vlog helps
very cute channel! love to see an english perspective on american cultural stuff
Thank you! 😃
I recommend a trip for you that I think you will enjoy. Go to Sante Fe, New Mexico. Stay at La Fonda hotel on the plaza in town. It is very old and has the old Mexican/Spanish building design and is very beautiful! But not fancy. Just cozy, yet huge. They have a great restaurant that you should try once, then eat out in the town. They have gorgeous shops inside the hotel. The hotel is fairly new, 1922, but sits on a location that has hosted hotels since the 1600s on the Plaza, and it is an Historic Hotel of America. (It's very Spanish.) Very close to it is a fabulous museum with local history and with Georgia O'Keefe paintings. The Plaza is fun to walk around and very old. Mexican people sell their handmade goods along the streets of the Plaza. Lots of fun stuff to see and buy. Great restaurants! Old Spanish/Mexican churches in walking distance. And nearby, is what used to be the secret location where they built the Atom bomb. They have a museum to visit and learn about it. I think you will like this place. La Fonda seems expensive compared to other hotels, but it's historic and beautiful, and it's not as expensive as Disney World hotels. And more fun. The people in "Dallas" would have stayed here. At least, the women would have.
That’s sounds right up our street, a road trip may be called for
❤❤❤
Thank you
Barry, love your videos. You helped me visit Florida now doing the same with Texas! 😄 You were using an app to check the parking, may I ask what app is it? Coming to Texas in July.
That was just the one on the QR code in the car park to pay
@@ThemeParkBazza thanks for replying!
Hope Maxine is ok she seemed a bit tired although free cotton candy is always a good pick up 😅
It’s all that food, I told her to stick to drinking :-)
I went to San Antonio 21 years ago. My wife was pregnant and we went to the square with the Mexican restaurants. She stood up when we were having a meal and totally passed out unconscious. The emergency services were called and she woke up surrounded by firemen. She wasn’t complaining too much lol. We made sure she drank Gatorade the rest of the trip as it was dehydration that caused it. She whacked her head. The people in the restaurant were nice and brought her a fresh meal out.
I am glad she was ok, Maxine’s mum had a similar experience in Chilli’s Virginia, their fire brigade came to help out. It was dehydration as well
I’m really loving watching this trip, I think Texas needs to go on my bucket list.
We ate at Mad Dogs several years ago. Scotch eggs weren't bad.
Good to know if we go back
Great vlog guys 🎉 did u see a face in the candy floss or have I had too much alcohol lol xx
Not sure, let me have a few drinks and check :-)
@@ThemeParkBazza ha ha 😂
You pair of 🥴🥴😂🤗🤗
Bazza, you missed nothing on the boat trip, believe me 🙄. Maxine you should take one of the little fruit juice bottles you add water to for your blackcurrant fix
Good to know, we ended up having fun in the pub as you saw
We always enjoyed Durty Nellys. A little too much sometimes in fact. 😅
Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing, they say
Max why did you let him out 🤣🤣
I had the Uber app to get to the hotel :-)
I live here. Fellow Brit. It’s an awful place. Glad you had a good day. What did you think of the driving???
A nightmare , so much construction, so busy
Please tell me you are going to Terry Black's BBQ in Austin. it will blow your mind.
We never made it to Austin on this visit
Building a Terry Black’s in downtown San Antonio. We’ll see if it’s better than Pinkertons or Reese’s BBQ.
Taxidermy is very Texan with all the hunters here, but I’m not a fan, either.
A great skill, just not for me
My God, you guys can certainly put down the liquor.
We do like the occasional tipple :-)
I can't believe you guys went all the way to the Alamo and didn't check the basement. Hashtag if you know, you know 😉
We know about it now, but we were not waiting in those lines to get in
I know you are but what am I?
The food looked really good, been to many restaurants and never seen the cotton candy at the end, thought that was fun.
Seems like you did quite a bit of walking, do you remember how many miles?
@@kakarikiyazoo I don't make monkeys, I just train 'em!
@@ThemeParkBazza when you go back, make sure you tell them " Large Marge sent ya"!
So if I was in England and there was a Texas bar there is no way I would go into it same goes for English visiting Texas why would you go to a English PUB in Texas go to a real Texas Bar while in Texas just saying 🤷♂️
Different if you live in the USA. 99% of the time we are in US bars , so a UK one is a treat. I am sure if you moved to the UK and a US Sports Bar opened close by, you would try it out.
