Here is the first published anthem of Mary McDonald, composed 38 years ago. The familiar words are traditionally attributed to St. Francis of Assisi who lived in the 13th century, but were probably written by an Italian priest sometime around 1910. No matter who wrote them, they still settle our souls as we hear them.
