Thank you for explaining how to tie off the threads after appliquéing, I’ve never understood before❣️ Fran, you are amazing! And thank you for the free patterns as well🌸
Thanks for an excellent intruction video. My very first quilt in 1987 was a sampler and done completely by hand. It included needle turn applique which eventually frayed. I did not enjoy and have never done since. Your video has inspired me to try again!
Wonderful instructional video. Love the fabrics! I have not yet tried applique but you have given such easy instructions, I believe I will try it. And that bag, love it, gotta make one of those for sure. Thank you Fran & all the staff at Fabric Cafe.
Fran, your fabric line is beautiful. I love the vibrant colors. Thank you for the Jamboree pattern and the tutorial on appliqué. I enjoy appliqué too and love your tip on laying out the same color pieces and stitching them down then moving on to the next color pieces then changing the thread. Thanks too for the appliqué pattern. I really enjoyed the video.
Thank you so much for the detail sewing of the applique. What was the stitch length on the stitches? This fabric is outstanding - so bright and cheerful.
The default stitch width on my machine is 2.5. For this applique, I set the stich width to 1.8. It is a smaller design so I wanted a narrower width to keep it light and happy. Thanks for watching! Fran
Great video! I really like both projects. Which size of the bag are you showing? Do you need a tool for the grommets or are those the type that don’t need a tool?
Hi Mary! The one we show is the "Petite" size, so the smaller of the two. The pattern suggests using 1" Dritz Curtain Grommets, which does not require a tool to install. You can find those at various stores, but here are some from Michaels. - www.michaels.com/product/dritz-home-pewter-1-round-curtain-grommets-8ct-D652670S
That is an excellent idea! I do use invisible thread often. For certain applique, like this one, I like the colored thread. I feel it gives a pretty edge to the applique. But either works very well. Fran

I love your new line of fabric. Is that a new studio you are filming from? Very nice.
Thank you! Yes, we have moved to a different room in our building for our filming studio. Glad you liked it and noticed! 😄

@@FabricCafe Thank you!
Why not use invisible thread? Then you don’t have to change thread.

Any idea how a scan n cut would work with the appliqué?
I have never used a scan n cut. If you try it, let us know how it works. Fran
Hey! Send me those first appliqué samples🤭😉 those are lovely and I’ll finish them for you- save me some work!
😅😅
