My grandmother loved finnish, karelian and russian folk songs and tales, and she also listened to russian opera. I learned to sing many songs that originate from the end of 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century finland, karelia, ingria and russia. I love to play guitar, and I listen to many many genres of music, but still I must say that the most beautiful songs I've ever heard come from karelian and karelian-russian folk tales and ballads. Thank you Igor for playing us Kalinka!
