Imagine the look on Nihilanth's face when only half an hour after invading Earth, he gets obliterated by a jumping, spastic mute physicist with a ponytail.
Half-Life is one of my favourite games of all time, I've played it nearly ten times, and I had absolutely no idea you could break the ceiling like he does at 5:52 and get up behind the turret. Mind blown.
Half-Life is full of cool little secrets! I highly recommend Big Mac Davis' 100% tutorial. So many things I didn't know about either. He's also really easy to understand.

@@swedish_sadhguru3854 Short answer: It looks better! Long answer: Half-Life 1 was most likely designed without the idea of filtered texures. So many people think the game looks inferior when the low detail textures are blended into another. If you disable it (I think it's the GL_NEAREST command in autoexec) you will get much better visuals and a much more nostalgic feeling. Everything is sharper and more vivid. In my opinion, it's the look the designers intended.

I guess he should have prepared for unforeseen consequences.
@Putz Gordon has it in Half-Life, but in Black Mesa the guard at the beginning points out that Gordon cut it.
Nihilanth was based on Gray newell, Gabe's first son lol

A random ass dude speed hopping past you in a blink of an eye yet everybody is calling you the alien.
Pretty cool to see one of Black Mesa's scientists speedrun his own game
