Except that we (the US) promised Russia in the early 1990s that we would NOT expand NATO eastward toward Russia. Then, we did just exactly that! I am not condoning Putin for attacking the Ukraine, but the US pushed the Ukraine into war, and Zelinsky sold out the country and agreed. Russia had offered many peaceful options for Ukraine. But we (the west) just want more war. And the people paying are the citizens (especially the soldiers) of Ukraine.
