  • I head out across the Dawlish Warren nature reserve then onto the Dawlish Warren spit. I get as far as I can on the spit within touching distance to Exmouth but obviously can't get across to Exmouth because of the fast flowing water coming down the Exe Estuary.

Love Dawlish beach, never walked as far as you did though so the dog and me need another trip up! My mum is 86 and loves the south devon coast too so we take her to stay in ladys mile caravan park in Dawlish. Fab video Carl☺

I've done that walk many times Carl but never seen the water so low. The layout of the fences on the nature reserve makes it very difficult to get to the bird hide now and it used to be very popular with the twitchers. Another enjoyable video, well done! Regards Keith

Spent many an hour on the Dawlish Warren spit whilst visiting on holidays but never walked towards the end. We really enjoy walking from the split alongside the train track back towards Dawlish Warren. Happy days 😊. Cheers Carl. Atb, J 👍.

From what I gather the geo bags contain sand but let water in and out to help protect the dunes with out the need a solid structure.Once again makes me want to get out and about more than I do. Keep it up

The geobags were put in when the restoration scheme was was done in 2016/2017. The erosion from the groynes back has happened since caused by the boarding of the groynes to the top. Since then the boards have been removed to a lower level. I believe the geobags were put in to stop any erosion from the river side not the sea

Hello mate. Nice vid. Just looked that up on google maps. I think I will have to have a proper look down there. I record all my sound via a lapel mike and a vioce recorder app on my phone. It's suprisingly easy to sync it later assuming you edit on a laptop with a decent editing program. Judging by the standard of some of your editing I'm sure you do. Good decision not walking out on that last bit of land. How many times does the lifeboat get called out for that sort of thing?

    • @Intotheoutdoors69

Thanks Joe its a great place and I recommend it let me know if you make it down and I will see if im available to come and meet you don't forget we still have that other walk tk do at some point. I think I will have to get one of them mics one day and I edit on my phone at the moment 😁👍

@@Intotheoutdoors69 When I get round to it I'll definitely give you a shout although knowing me it'll probably be short notice lol. I'm still up for that walk but probably now best to wait until we get out of tier 2. What app do you use then? I thought your editing was too good for a phone I've tried vllo. It's not bad for little short social media stuff but it's fiddly. I cant really do a youtube edit justice without using my laptop.
Maybe it's just cos I'm an old git lol.

cool video. digging the effects you were trying out.. panning shot at the beginning (is that in your editing program?) & loved the shimmering effect you got with the water.. very avant-garde ;) ATB

Hi mate thanks for watching yeah im trying out bew ways to film the bit at the start with me panning is just me shooting in 4k then converting it to 1080p cos when you zoom in the video quality should ve slightly better than if I was to shot in 1080p. I then zoomed in then panned the shot unfortunately I had a bit of moisture on the lens so it didn't look that good😁👍
