I’ll go ya one further - I’d guess that not many of us care what you call this or the other show. We see the thumbnail and we click on it. It’s good content. Don’t sweat the branding. You two dingus’s (dingi?) are the brand.
You fixed the main issue I had with the TS. More gain. Definitely will try out the Envy. Although it was a missed opportunity to not call it the Testacles Overdrive. Give your tone some balls.

The funny thing is, I always say I'm not a big TS guy...until I'm playing one and then I totally get the eff down on it! gonna have to get an envy...
I applaud you on the effort. I was really stoked on this UNTIL l saw that the bass or depth option was a button. If it was an adjustable knob, this would be a winner. I like a tubescreamer In some form or fashion l have always had one. My only gripe and this is NOT A GRIPE FOR A LIVE SITUATION but for bedroom practice time l would desire a bit of bass to be added back in. I’m not trusting a button to cover this. I will add that l think the old original or at least the old ones l had, l feel like they had a little bit of girth or thickness not bass but added gain , mid, and a little muscle. I use a KingTone Duellist now and l have a few colors and models. The model with the dip switch fulfills the needs. You guys are the PROS though so l need to try it.

How similar is the Herculean to a Tube Screamer? I thought it was based on it
I have the Herc Deluxe and the Herc D style. To me, the Herc has so much range from edge of break up to thicker fat drive but still retains clarity. TS have more mids which for me sounds kind if honky so I’ve never been a fan
I've loved Tubescreamers for a long time and have been aggravated by the meme-ish, click-baity anti-TS stuff. But indeed, another important part of the picture, as you guys point out, is the general reduction in stage volume and the rise of bedroom playing. The magic of a TS may not be so apparent outside of a band context, under 90 db, and into an amp that is not at the edge of breakup.

Totaly perfect explained the use of a ts : pushing a loud cranked Marshall❤ thats what I did in the 2000s playing in a Rockband mostly on Open Airs😂 after that I didn't got a Essential use for one since😢
I think a wah or fuzz face are probably the stand-out iconic pedals for non-guitarists, but the TS is up there for players
