I visited Lagg in 2019 it was really nice can’t wait to try the first bottle they release.. you missed out on touring a beautiful Island , there is some really fantastic hikes on Arran
All that running training finally paid off!😉 Can't wait to try some Lagg when it's ready. Currently I have a 14yr Arran single cask ex-bourbon open which admittedly drinks a bit hot, but it is nice to try some Arran with no sherry influence. The 21 is a nice balance of sherry and bourbon though, I think you made the right choice!
I always find it interesting when distilleries say they are different in that they do a 2.25 or 2.5 times distillation when in reality most whisky is more than 2 times distilled as the foreshots and feints get at least three goes through the stills!
One wonders if they will discontinue the excellent Machrie Moor when Lagg start bottling their own peated whisky. I am excited to see the new Machrie Moor 10 Year Old.
That Small Batch Peated Rum Finish is a fantastic dram. Every Penny worth it. With a little drop of water its perfect. I like Arran/Lochranza as a distillery a lot. But I liked the old whsiky in the old bottle design more. A great distillery tour. And you should look after the Arran Millenium Casks. I think that this is your type of whisky in perfection. Would be interesting to see your notes
@@WhiskyMystery thanks for confirming, interesting! Be interested to see what they come up with as the Arran 10 is lovely which I bought after all the good RUclips reviews
No rain! A bottle of whisky to take home, a wonderful tour and a memory for your dotage. Perfect day. Thanks for recording it.
Thanks Michael
What a beautiful day and distillery! Loved the “funky town” background music…so Isle of Arran!! Felt like I was there-thank you Phil and Deepa! 🥃😊
Cheers

Beautiful distillery! Thank you for the video!
It is still pretty shiney
This is more fuel on the fire of my Islay/Arran/Campbeltown visit desire. Have a great weekend.
and it's so sunny. Perfect weather.
Hope you get there
Love that you share a dram with staff at the distillery
It has always been a great success

Yeah we like that balance. The 25 was a bit too oaky
Greatly enjoy your travel videos. Thanks for sharing.

Amazingly we have not seen rain on our UK trip but it is coming

Good point. More like solera distilling
@@WhiskyMystery I hope you can switch your tour tickets to another day otherwise your plan to give all the auction profits back really succeeded!
Every extra day is more money to Campbelltown :-)
One wonders if they will discontinue the excellent Machrie Moor when Lagg start bottling their own peated whisky.
I am excited to see the new Machrie Moor 10 Year Old.
I should have asked but you would think the answer is yes.
@@WhiskyMystery My understanding is that they will for the foreseeable future as the Machrie Moor is such an established and popular brand.
Hi Stuart. The first 3y Lagg will be out this year. Are both covid free?

More like the old arran 14 I guess.
@@WhiskyMystery The Old Design or the Millenium Casks? 🙂

The Sauternes finish is an 8-9 year old whisky according to the sell sheet I saw at my local liquor store.
ok thanks
enjoying your travel videos 👍
Cheers
At 6:10-6:11 you can see my name on the Cask Society wall three plaques across from the middle of the big Lagg 700 plaque 😎😍
Wow. That is nice to see.
@@WhiskyMystery Hope you're enjoying your tours, looking forward to seeing your adventures in Campbeltown.
So are we
great video, loved Lagg distilery much more vistor friendly than Lochranza. Then the product from both is exciting
Good to know
Ooh 10 year old Machrie Moor. Nice! Had the CS batch 4
Yeah , but not the same stills as Lagg
It was nice to see your distillery.
Thanks.

Nice, thank you!
It´s probably helpful to change the title to "Lagg distillery tour on the Isle of Arran" to avoid confusion.
The title represents my confusion 😀 but yes I will add Lagg
Why is “Funky Town” playing at the distillery? 🤣
I didn’t actually notice at the time
I enjoyed this
Cheers
Good video , like .
Cheers
@@WhiskyMystery cheers !
Sorry, probably a stupid question but what’s the Lagg distillery then? Is it the same distillery as Arran 10 correct?
Arran is made at the Lochranza distillery in the north. Lagg is a new distillery that will only make peated whisky.
@@WhiskyMystery thanks for confirming, interesting! Be interested to see what they come up with as the Arran 10 is lovely which I bought after all the good RUclips reviews
I honestly thought we were going to the home of Arran whisky 😀
Plastic cups............such a shame
Could do without them yes
@@WhiskyMystery Glad you enjoyed your trip to the distillery. With the cups, they are made of corn and are entirely biodegradable!
Oh good to know
