  • I had to shoot a short video on my beloved 82 W123 300 CD turbo diesel coupe. I bought this car sight unseen and drove it 2300 miles home without an issue.
Enjoy the video, will be doing more of my classics.

I bought my ‘85 W123 sight unseen and drove it 1200 miles home. Not a speck of rust or crack in the dash. I had to get the a/c recharged and it kept me reasonably comfortable through the Houston summer. It is a fantastic car and gets a lot of positive attention.

Gorgeous example. I know an 84 year old gentleman with two really nice 85’s in covered outside storage, one of them the same color as yours. I’m hoping I can convince my friend to find proper homes for them before they start to seriously deteriorate. The roofline on these is a bit too short for me. My head will hit the moonroof, whereas in my 500 SEC it’s fine.

Looks just like mine but I have an '84 in same color with Navy interior. Have 138k miles. Absolutely love driving it, gets comments everywhere I go in it.

I just bought one of these, same color but black interior, turbo too. I didn't even know the turbo version was hard to find. Just searched, saw it and got it. Only problem is I need to fix the trunk lock. And yes, the more I'm driving it, the better it's getting. I just got the euro lamps, classic bbs rims and I'll do the euro bumper.

Lovely car. I have two 123 series a boggo 200 manual and a 280ce here in cape town. Love them both Actually use the 200 as a daily mostly. Love your car. Those bumpers should be easy to replace. cheers mate.

I own a 1982 300 CD Coupe turbo diesel, red with black interior. Will be putting it in market soon but not quite sure what the value is. Considering it's age, it has some issues relative to age. A beautiful car. It runs very well.

The bumpers are quite difficult to find. Every set I have seen is beat to hell. So....I still have the original. '85 300CD. 15-inch w140 wheels. Bosch EU headlamps.

They are fantastic cars. Make sure oil is changed regularly. No low valve train. Doesn’t run hot and no abnormally big oil leaks. Driving is smooth. And trans shifts smoothly and power is uniform

I’m looking at buying one from a friend. My wife is wondering if it would be safe to take our young daughter in and if a child seat would be able to be installed in the back seat

Let's just say I wouldn't want to get hit by a w123. They are astonishingly tough
And can take a hit very well.

Sight unseen means you purchased it without seeing it in person. You flew down and saw it in person, drove it, then purchased it. I like this model also but boy do people continue the tale that they run forever blah blah which of course isn't true. It is a good solid car though.

😂 can’t tell if you’re being serious. Literally sent a deposit and the only verifying factor I wanted to know was that it started and drove, I was already committed to buying it

I had 2 gas models in the '80s. They were perfectly maintained yet very unreliable. Wish I had gotten diesels instead.
