- Moving the Garratt 6042 from the Main Line in Forbes NSW to the know defunct Lachlan Vintage Village, it really went to its grave. This engine is still there rusting away in the sunshine
Brings back some memories. It spent its first night in front of our house.
A truly sad and ignominious end to a great loco.
Wow! Wish it had some sound!!!
Thanks for sharing
Truly, the shame is that it went there under its own steam and that was the end of it.
hauled to her own graveyard and no one back then never knew it
Fantastic footage of this piece of history. Shame it’s going to rot in Dorrigo with the other never to be restored loco’s.
It wont get there.
It will get to Dorrigo sometime soon. Needs lots of money and lots of volunteer help to do so however. Dorrigo has a truck and trailers that can carry it in a dismantled state.
This loco will never be restored to working order and I doubt even Beyer Peacock would take on such a mammoth project.Too many bits missing.
It should be taken away and put under cover and be restored
Robert Chinnock Who will pay?

It’s assembled from other 60 class frames
