You have to have context on what they mean and not just look at the age numbers at face value. Jon Jones was a seasoned champion for 3 full years before Dominick Reyes even had his first MMA fight. they might be 2 years apart in reality but they're closer to 8-10 years apart in terms of fight mileage and experience.

M G I don’t think so. Honestly, and I had it 3-2 for Reyes, I’m not that upset w the decision because Jones is the Champ and it was very close. That and Reyes last 2 rounds were not that good. I’ve seen so many decisions much worse than this, and I’ve always believed that if you are gonna beat the champ, ya gotta BEAT the champ...no questions at all! Either way, I do think it was that close. Yeah, the stats were all over the screen and everyone is looking for the upset, but Jones did dictate the entire fight and for moments Reyes looked like he was gonna topple over from exhaustion.
BUT the real story is that Jones last 2 fights have been VERY unimpressive! Limited takedowns and Jones is not at his best upright. He just isn’t. He better continue to work and evolve or he will get beat! And soon!

It was that close of a fight. The 3rd round was up for grabs. I'm not a ufc expert but I would think if it's that close the judges are going to lean towards the champ almost always and no not out of favoritism, but to become the champ I feel like you REALLY gotta out fight the champ when it comes to this sport. @@terrencemcdaniel6605 You can't. This isn't boxing. Trust me, you can't win 3 rounds and then run away for 2 rounds. Even Dana white said this is what cost him the fight, when he didn't have to. He could have kept going at the same pace and won convincingly carrying his momentum into those later rounds. The championship rounds are very important, these are the round where you define yourself as the champ or dominant fighter. This isn't boxing you can't score some points and wait for the timer to run out for 2 rounds with the other guy chasing you back and forth trying to engage. That looks terrible. Oh that's the champanion, lol. You gotta fight in there, not survive

@@trumajore7989 He is possibly the most studied fighter in UFC history... It gets hard after a while. After taking 1 good thing each of the 26 people he has defeated does and combining them eventually someone will come up with a formula.
He needs to be more aggresive in the 1st few rounds..that changes the entire course of the fight a lot of times.. especially with his cardio.. he can keep up the pace for 5 rounds..no doubt!

I definitely don't agree, it was a close fight but I had Jones winning just like the judge's... Alex gustavsson came way closer to beat Jones in there first fight and Jones got that decision as well ..you really have to a decisive victory to get decision over the champ...Reyes definitely had rounds 1 and 2 but that's about it

Jones sells a lot of tickets for pay per views. I’m sure jones gave a percentage of commission to Dana and his company men as a bribe. There needs to be more ticket drawers other than Jones for the fighting to be fair.
